  1. I prefer walking because I think I enjoy just being outdoors and taking in whats going on. When I ride I feel rushed and don't take my shots as seriously. The only downside to walking is that I get winded on the last couple of holes. The last time I golfed I was a smoker and didn't exercise much and now that's the opposite, so hopefully I'll be able to walk 18 without getting fatigued.
  2. (Response to original question) I put the clubs in the same spot every time after I hit a shot. My bag has three sections. The woods and putter are on top. 3-8 irons split in the middle, and 9-sw on the bottom section. I've tried a lot of different configurations but this is what works best.
  3. Thanks for the feedback everyone. I bought the clubs. I traded in my old TA5 Clevelands for $89. They originally wanted to give me $50 but I went home and checked the PGA value guide and then they changed it. So I got a decent set of clubs for $100. I hit them yesterday and noticed a little difference with the clubheads being smaller, but they are so accurate every shot is within 5 feet of the other, unless i hit it fat or thin. My fade turned into a straight shot and a couple of draws. I just have to hope this is the way it'll stay. I also got 24 PROv1s used on ebay for $30 and they are like new. So instead of spending $600 on irons and $90 on balls, I got both for $130. Now I can think about finally getting lessons.
  4. I'm looking at some Mizuno MP-30 clubs at the local Golf Galaxy. They show an average amount of wear but overall look like they'll last a while. Is buying used clubs a bad thing?
  5. I've played Scenic View and Kettle Hills. I love Kettle Hills' #2 with the big drop. That course is awesome. I mostly play Milwaukee County courses, Whitnall Park in particular. I also like playing Rainbow Springs . I loved playing Nagawaukee but it's so expensive. I love Nagawaukee and Whitnall in particular, because of their "personalities". I've played a few other courses, but I'm really like unable to afford playing anywhere besides County courses. So what I typically do is just go to courses in the coupon books or courses I find coupons for in magazines.
  6. I started out with an imitation cobra set of clubs until I learned how to keep the ball in play on the course. If you're not confident enough to play big courses yet, maybe start with a whole set of cheap new clubs or used clubs. If you spend a lot on beginner clubs now, you'll regret paying for them when you're ready to move on to a better set. Plus if you're learning on these hybrids, you'll have to learn how to hit a low iron again all over again when you move on to better clubs.
  7. Hey I'm from Milwaukee too, what courses do you play?
  8. Try a little 3M rubbing compound, and then some a.uto polish to shine it up
  9. I work in admissions at the Milwaukee Public Museum, and am a temporary worker until the Body Worlds exhibits moves out.
