  1. fwiw--I like my TaylorMade TP Black's better than my Vokey's... -mark
  2. not in the northern climes :( they tend to get slightly hard under 50° -- or so I've noticed. Have tried many including the Winn shown in original post. (imo-they get a little slick in warm weather) Always come back to Golfpride Tour Velvets. -mark
  3. hilarious!! thanks! (from a new ST member) -mark wonder if he really popped the ball like that? in today's tech world, I find myself not believing much I see on YouTube :)
  4. agree with the "get the ball rolling asap" but I do have one personal "rule"... Unless the ball is right on the collar, I use the next higher lofted club than I would normally use when the green is sloping away--no exceptions (for me). It seems it always runs out perfectly following this "rule". -mark
  5. I think it really doesn't matter... it's what you get used to. For instance, I personally go by the course markers. When I go to a course with gps carts, I'm always way off with my club choice. Meaning, you get accustom to picking your club based on whatever method you use to judge distance. yeah, my manual judgment is off from actual, but my club choice is consistent and correct. As long as you work on accurate club choices from the 200, 150, 100 and in, you shouldn't need anything else (imo). -mark
  6. for those that have not tried the new TaylorMade TP balls... give 'em a try. You'll be surprised (and they're about 30% less then ProV). I was given a sleeve last fall by the pro here and I am sold! -mark
  7. yeah, putting... if you could sink 80% of 15' to 8' you'd be there. the blow up holes where you take double (or worse)? that's golf :) More times than not, when you think you're out of it you make a couple birdies and hey, a decent round can still be salvaged. yeah-it could have been great, but... second for me would be the mental game. why is it you shoot lights out at the end of season? I think for me it's because I quit thinking about improvement-it's too late in the year-and I just play. So that's my new goal for the year. Get the groove back from the winter layoff, then JUST PLAY :) good luck all... -mark
