  1. Oh man. Its almost like a few beers does WONDERS. Yesterday, i couldnt get anything going, i was 15 over on the front, i was about to beat myself over my head with my putter. So i had about 3 beers from 7-9. They kicked in and i shot 2 over on the back with 4 makable birdie puts that i just couldnt get to fall, and 2 longer eagle putts that i should have gotten way closer for birdie.
  2. bandon dunes, Oregon. One of the best courses, but the worst weather. We started and the wind was blowing 30+, and raining so hard, sideways rain. After our round, they said that it was raining 3 inches every 15 minutes. It would stop for 10 minutes, then it would hail so hard, the ground would be white. I was holding my bag over my head to keep from getting hit by the hail. It did this over and over allllllll day. You could hit your ball down the fairway, well the river that was running down the fairway would take your ball with it and you would have to follow it to find your ball. The wind was blowing so hard you would line up to put it, and the ball would move a foot, then line up move again, it was like putting blind. That was miserable. And $120 down the drain with that round.
  3. I dont know about that one. I was watching jason z. on sports science and he was swinging at 153+ and he was just barely generating 200mph of ball speed.
  4. Im still not REAL good, but I do know a little about the golf swing. You could always just put the ball a little further up in your stance. Also, try not to shift your weight so much to the front if you "throw" your weight toward your target. Thats about all i have right now, but again, maybe i shouldnt be giving advice. hahaha
  5. Congrats on the bomb, thats a real confidence builder right there.
  6. Wow thanks for the video. I know exactly what everyone is talking about, but wow, changing this swing is going to be very difficult. I went to the range twice after i read some things on this post (went to range, had to go to class, then went back to range) I was trying to keep my hands infront of the ball and oh man did i look like a hack out there. I think i was exaggerating it a bit though. Anyway, ill keep trying and thank you guys once again. Ill try to get my swing on here or somewhere and maybe someone can analyze it a little more in depth for me.
  7. i like that park bench idea. thanks a bunch. i need some help, like the guy before me, i hate it when my buddies pull a 4 iron and hit it like about a 2 iron stinger, and i hit my 3 iron like a 7 iron. Very very very crappy when hitting into the wind.
  8. 139... are you sure you're not thinking of your ball speed... 139 clubhead is a pretty outlandish claim... not saying it is untrue... it just takes one hell of an athlete to accomplish such speed. how the hell do you guys do that quote thing??
  9. My favorite beer is of course.... My beer. I love my Hazelnut brown ale. Its a very close clone to Rogue's hazelnut brown nectar. Anyway, my favorite beers are alaskan amber, moose drool, and a good arrogant bastard ale.
  10. Sunday morning, i went out and played Indian Canyon. Very good course, but can inflate your score pretty badly considering they took a forest and put a golf course in it. If you dont have a great drive, your basically jailed up and cant get out half of the time. I am obviously not a pro, so... i get jailed up a lot. Its only 6300, but its up and down the whole course, no flat holes at all! not exaggerating either. so in all, i shot a 94 for my first round of the year.
  11. tree chutes, making me drive down a 40 yard gap.... I get really nervous and unconfident in my driver. Also, hidden creeks that run in front of greens on longer holes. If i catch my long irons fat and it lands in a 2 foot wide creek, make me FURIOUS
  12. NXT's, usually at the clubhouse they run 25-28 a doz, But off the internet, you can get mints for about $9-12 a dozen. Pretty good really, i was kind of skeptical about buying balls off the internet. Well "used" balls, but i bought mint grade and they were perfect, not one defected ball. Just crappy logos on them. $65 with shipping for 75 balls.
  13. Hey guys, I'm having a little trouble with the trajectory on my ball flight. I dont know what I'm doing wrong. I'm a former baseball player so I can only believe I'm releasing my hands too fast. I hit my driver, 8.5 degree, at about 12-13 degrees. I have the Diamana stiff shaft on that. I hit my 3 iron about like a 5 or 6 iron. I don't get the low flight and roll like my better friends. I just get in trouble with wind and spin that take me into the woods or lakes or persons houses. I dont mind the loss of yardage, i still hit the ball pretty well, 195-205 with 5 iron, but its just launched at what a 7 iron should be.
  14. I dont wear glasses, ive tried, but theres just no way. The distortion, the lack of sight and i seem to lose my ball immediately after i strike it. I cant have anything in my pockets besides a tee and a divot repair as well.
  15. This year Ive put up 128mph. But thats just ripping it, I hit it pretty well on the simulator as well. Average swing for my drive was 115-117. About 2 years ago i was working out and in decent shape, I hit 139. Thought it was a fluke, swung again and put up 136. I didnt hit the ball very well on the sim, but i wasnt trying to hit the ball, i was trying to rip my spine outta my back.
