  1. I don't mind walking at all....that is as long as I'm not carrying my bag. Nice push/pull carts really come in handy. I'm in the market now for one.
  2. I sort of did the same thing. I just can't get used to offset irons. I haven't noticed a real difference in performance.....but then again, I'm just a weekend hacker.
  3. Comfort is king.....I'm quite serious. At least I'm not wearing golf sandals......yet.
  4. If so, have any of you tried them? I recently bought a pair of Sketchers brand walking/running shoes. They are without a doubt the most comfortable pair I've ever had....putting any of the Nikes or New Balance(my normal brand) to shame. It'd be super to find a pair of golf shoes that felt as good.
  5. So many choices....so many classics as well as so much new stuff. I've been out of the market for a while so I'm not a great advisor. I wound up with my two putters due to their ability to help me with alignment...my nemesis. The PING is so long that you can see if it's square to the line you want very easily. The 2-Ball is so deep that the same thing occurs. I've tried litterally hundreds of putters over the years.....not owned, just messed around with. Nobody in your foursomes will mind you trying out their flat sticks.....their woods probably not (I'd never ask them, anyway). Roll as many balls as you can with different putters.
  6. Bridgestone stand bag. Red, white and black. It's old and heavy as heck. The oval shaped bottom is horrible on golf carts. I need to replace it.
  7. I could see where that would happen with the right three wood. You'll be tormented with the desicion when the big stick comes back. I'm a sucker and always pull it out.
  8. I haven't in the past....but will most likely do so now. Over the years, my bag usually has the irons staying for a few years, though the drivers and woods only stick around a year or so at best. I'm getting better, though.....My current stuff has been in the bag 5 years....3 of those years I haven't been playing hardly any. That's changing now, though....getting back into golf and enjoying it. I'm looking at getting a more modern driver and 3 wood and maybe adding a hybrid. This time around, I may very well match them. The main two reasons are that I may be going with an oversized square head....it would be good to mate them up. The second reason is to get simular swing results with the shafts. The V2 shaft is to my liking so it'll most likely go in each.
  9. I've had the pleasure of attending a few practice rounds and one Friday tourney round there. During the practice rounds, I've found the the stand adjacent to 16 tee to be a lot of fun. Some of the guys are trying to keep things low key and fun and will try to skip balls accross the water and up on the green. During the actual tournament, it is fun sitting there as well....you can watch the players hit into 15.....lots of drama.
  10. That sounds reasonable. I've been buying the Titleist X-Outs from WalMart for $10 / dozen. They ones lately have all been recent models. I've yet to find one that didn't play okay. As someone stated, though, I'd use the "regular" model for tourneys and competitive rounds.
  11. I have a weight that wraps over the head of any iron. It has velcro closures. I like using this on my 3 iron when I first get to the course to stretch my wrist and loosen up with several minutes of smooth & easy swings. I do this before I even attempt a real practice swing or hitting some warm up balls.
  12. Callaway X-14 Pro Rifle shaft - stiff 3-LW Had them a few years now. I really like them. I can't see switching irons for many many moons.
