1. That's exactly where the weight should be, on the balls of the feet.
2. I help big companies to innovate their (online) marketing. Not with optimization for search engines or Adwords, but by inventing new technologies to use in marketing. Also I help them set up their big data warehouse and assist them in setting up a system to find and use the right data. By big companies I mean companies with >$50 million marketing budget as the solutions I'm hired to build usually aren't run off the mill :)
3. In my bag there isn't room for a 3 and a 5 wood. So I went for a 4 wood, maybe the best decision yet. :) I got myself a PING Anser 16.5 degree and it's been great sofar. Mind you: the difference in distance isn't that big of a problem for me. :)
4. Like MS256 above me I don't know what my dominant hand is in golf. But I've ought about it for about a minute or so and came up with this. I'm a right handed player, so my swing plane is from right to left. In the backswing I try to keep my hands even until they are about hip high. That's where left becomes somewhat dominant, at the top of the backswing I cock my wrists a bit which is led by my right hand. The start of the backswing is a (massive) pull with the left hand, combined with the rotation of my hips (I know my shoulders turn, but I'm not consciously doing this). Okay in the downswing just as my hands are about the night of the bottom of my rib cage, my right hand takes over, my wrists need to uncock and do the "lag" thing where most of the speed comes from. When I hit e ball I should have released my hands, having neither 'lead' the club through the ball. Once the club has hit the ball it's a bit of left hand trailing the club and stopping it before it hits the back of my neck. That's a pretty accurate description if I may say so myself. FYI: I hit the ball hard, have about a 165 yard 7 iron. Trail ever so slightly outside in and have a fade as natural ball flight.
5. And PING fitters can tell you this and probably re-set the irons for you :)
6. I'm sorry but I'd put the 7w in the garage and eBay me a nice 5w that's near mint and has the desired shaft. $60 for a new shaft, new grip and that ferrule sounds like a steal. The grip is $10 at least and that ferrule page won't load, but is bound to be another $10 right! So the new shaft and the men hours will only set you back $40? Here's a great 5w for $61 ex shipping: on eBay
7. I am one of those guys that still has a 1 iron in the bag. It's 15.5 degrees and I only use it for tee shots in windy conditions to be honest.. It's crazy, nobody seems to be able to hit it, not the pro's at the course I play, almost none of the 'low handicap' players I meet.. So I think it's pretty cool I can and to be fair it isn't hard, it's just a mindset. Prepare for a 5 iron shot with a long shaft and you'll hit it the way you should. I just bought a 4 wood and am going to put the 1 iron in the garage and only take it out to act tough or when I'm melodramatic I think ;) The 3i will probably be replaced by a hybrid soon too ;)
8. Hey all, I'll try keep it short :) Name: Floris Male, 36. live in The Netherlands. Played from '99 to early 2004. Some personal stuff happened, stopped playing. Picked it back up about 8-9 weeks ago. Handicap isn't what it used to be, but it's going down pretty nicely. Gear wise I'm a PING man... Driver: PING TISI, 8.5 degrees loft. Standard stiff shaft 4 wood: PING Anser 16.5 degrees loft. Standard stiff shaft. Irons: PING ISI with ZZ-65 shafts, 2 degrees flat, sand wedge set to 56 degrees. (I have and use 1,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,W,S1(52 degrees, shaft broken),S2(set to 56 degrees),L. Putters: Odessey Dual force mallet 330 (35"), Scotty Cameron Circa 62 #1 (34") - The Scotty isn't really made for the slow Dutch greens unfortunately.
9. First and foremost I've played from 1999 until the start of 2004 and picked it up again about two months ago. Not all my gear is complete so a part of my goal is to get that in order. Need a better driver, a hybrid, a new gap wedge and my old putter back from my mom. Other then that I'm quite happy with the gear. I have a few goals set for this year: - Consistently play under 80 (a good round is ~76 now, but a bad one is 85-90) - Vastly improve mental game (that's hardest to be measured) - Focus >70% of my training on the sub 125 meters game
