Other than Tiger who would you assume would be a strong candidate to win Augusta? I like Adam Scott to win if he is over his fever. What do you think?

But the range don't do it for me. I can hit it well off the range but some how being on the course is different with all the different situation.

So when do you guys go back to an easy course to build back your confident? I find that if I'm having 3 consecutive bad round I would go back to the course that I play the best at. It helps be build confident and let me work on my game. Do you do the same?

If you put this into a Martial Arts perspective...would I dare challenge my Master/Teacher to a fight? He would put me down in a heart beat. So for a Golf Pro Instructor to compete would other feel intimidated? Also for me I love to compete and win...so if these instructors are at the highest level in golf wouldn't the want/love to compete? hmmmmmmm???

hahahaha I LOVE IT!!! Who say golfers are not honest??

Now that is honesty!!! Look at how far you have come since your first time. Keep it up!!

I guess the questions here is what credentials should a golf pros at our course to teach us? One can argue that if you haven't played professionally then why are you teaching me...those sort of questions.

Sorry ladies but this is for the guys. If you had a chance to play with a local semi-pro woman golfer would you want to and would you like it? Well for me I played with a semi pro at my home course and I knew that she was a scratch before the round started. I say hey that would be fun to play with someone good and they can give me a pointer or two. After the first 4 holes I was fine but then the 5th hole was a blow up hole for me and she birdie...suddenly I felt embarrased and angry at myself. Well you guys can figure out the rest. I started to resent playing with her as the round goes on and I strated to say...well she get's to tee off much close than I do and so on :( I guess it just deep down man thing which I know I should not feel like that but I couldn't help it. What was your experience?

Alright folks there has been too much talk of breaking pars lately so here is my questions for everyone so please be honest. What was your score on your first 18? This is like your first kiss or your first date which many can not forget. Mine was 135 on a par 72 at Lake Chabot golf course in Northern CA. This one was a nasty one that had hills with narrow fair ways and balls that plugs due to the ground condition. This also had a par 6 660 from the blue and 680 from the tips. So as you can see this was not a course that I wanted to loose my golf virginity to but I will never forget it Ok people what was your real score...we all been there so please share :)

Hey everyone, This has been on my mind a while. If the Pro teachers (Butch, Harmon, Leadbetter, Peltz, etc) are so good at what they do...so why can't they compete in the Senior or PGA tour? If you look at most sports coaches (NFL, NBA, MLB, etc) has played before. So how come golf Pros aren't playing in the tour? What concern me is most of the head pro at these golf clubs haven't played a day on the tour. I could be so wrong with this but just curious to know. Love to hear your thoughts. Thanks!!

It's sad how a designer would not want his accomplishment be enjoyed by more :( Thanks for sharing!!

Most appropriate wedge for 20-30 yard shot?
under_par replied to jspangli's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
Agreed. I would use a 56 or 52 and chip it in from the fair way. I would use a 56 to get it out of the rough but make sure you check how deep the rough is for the correct speed. -
All my irons carry the same distance
under_par replied to TANK's topic in Instruction and Playing Tips
I am not sure about the distance of all your irons but for the hip part try shifting your hip to the target first before your down swing and see what happen. We all been there before and these are part of golf so hang in there and you will love golf soon. :) -
It will happen one day brother where the technologies will make Augusta a tame course...we hope not in the near future but I would guess in 5 years.
-
I hate slow play more than a poke in the eye. What sucks the most is when you are on a hot streak and then you find a 4sum that his hacking the ball all over and it just pains me to watch. What I would do is take out my wedge and work on chip shot of different king around the tee box. I will not look at them as it will just fustrate me more but yes it is part of the game and we just have to adapt.

Couldn't say say it better Matt. Good Job!!! P.S. try not to get wrap up in your head about the offset too much as your game will faulter and you will blame it on the modification. What done is done and now go out there and see what it does for ya.

Thanks!! I am always excited to try out different clubs. I like your X-forged. Played with them for about 5 rounds in a project X 6.0 and they were butter soft.

What do you hit from 200 yards?
under_par replied to nykfan4life's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
I LOVE IT!!!! -
I too think of him as an Arnie sort of guy before I heard that and it was kinda sad to hear it. My buddy who would not say something like that if he did not hear it from the caddie. It could be that the caddie was upset at Phil for that time but who knows :)

What do you hit from 200 yards?
under_par replied to nykfan4life's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
You are spot on but that will depend on the lie, wind, hazard and landing surface. If you want to play safe I would hit my 120 clubs dead on and hit a solid wedge for more control but that is another thread. -
I too recommend a 22 as it will give you the flight and distance. Good luck!

getting fitted in a store is a very hard thing to do because: 1. you are not warm up and you want to impress the rep so you hit the ball not at your normal speed. 2. You can really see how the ball flight and distance is. Yes they have the launch monitors but that still does not do it for me. 3. You are hitting off the mat and not on grass so that is also a major issue. My recommendation to you is take the set you have right now and play 3 rounds. Notice and write down what you see is happening with each iron. If your data is consisten then go back to the pro and share with them what you found out. Unless you have a pro standing by your side this is the best thing to get fitted. Good luck!!
