  1. So who is taking the reigns on setting up this outing?
  2. Black Gold seems to be the winner. I'm going to see if I can play there next week to get a preview. Probably Wednesday.
  3. I agree with you on that. In order for most of the public to enjoy themselves, they need to play fairly well relative to their handicap. When pins are placed in difficult positions, it causes most to shoot below those expectations and thus not enjoy themselves as much as they would like. It seems to me that these public courses should be more sensitive to this and thus placing these pins in easy positions. Perhaps public courses should distinguish different days for different difficulties of pins? Just a thought.
  4. To start this off, today at the 18th hole, my greenskeeper put the pin on a steep slope towards the back left of the green. This is a two tier green. The pin was not on either tier...FML.
  5. Lately I have noticed that my greenskeeper has been setting up some pins in unusually difficult spots. Does he realize that my handicap is suffering due to his apparently malicious practices of pin placement? I would like to hear from the community to see if this is a common thing, new trend or if mine is simply the outlier. Also, give some detailed examples of where your greenskeeper likes to place his pins.
  6. WooHoo! Shot a 71 at The Golf Club at Terra Lago, Championship Tee's, 6401 yards, 71/130. 9/18 GIR's, 10/14 FIR's. I getting out of the rut. (hopefully not speaking too soon).
  7. 76 from Black Tee's 7044 yds at The Golf Club at Terra Lago, South Course. (Rating/Slope) 74.0/138. It's been a rough couple weeks for me now. I have been struggling to keep it below 80, mind you, I'm a 1 handicap. (not for long). I hope I get over this hump soon.
  8. I will work on turning both feet out. It feels uncomfortable when I do, as I have learned to shift my weight in my current set up. Another thing I am going to try for the next couple days, is getting my hips to form that diagonal line, demonstrated by one of your youtube videos (stick through the belt loops drill). As for the ball forward, I have tried using that adjustment many of times, and it has only resulted, despite my most earnest of efforts, in pulls (slice, draw and straight). Where the ball currently lies in my driving stance is just inside my left foot, and I think thats as far forward as I'm comfortable to go. After I've messed with these couple adjustments, I'll repost another video, down the line and one facing me.
  9. I've been Playing Golf for: Over 10 years. My current handicap index or average score is: 78 My typical ball flight is: mid to low fade. The shot I hate or the "miss" I'm trying to reduce/eliminate is: low fade... The real goal is to hit a mid to high lofted, lower spinning ball. The shot I hit on this drive was med/high lofted, with a high rate of spin (3400-4000 rpm, guess based on distance and ball flight) Videos:
  10. I think its time we take a poll. Who knows how to post a poll so we can determine the course? Also, how do I get all the profile awards Golfingdad has?
  11. I have not been on Redhawk. Its only rumor to me of its quality.
  12. Talked to TC Inn. $65 ea, greens cart & range included. 1st group off at 0940 on May 4. Thats what they offered.
  13. It was mentioned earlier, but no attention given to the Temecula Creek Inn suggestion. The reason I bring it up is because I just drove past it on 15N and it looked great. My vote goes there. Also, if we go to TC Inn, I would like to give a go at organizing it, aka logistics.
  14. Sometimes. I played in the Mission Viejo one. Tristan told me you played in that one as well. I'm going to be playing in the Tukwet Legends Preview March 2nd.
  15. I've only heard good things about Redhawk from other players on the GCAM TOUR here in Palm Springs. I would be up for that one on May 4th.
  16. I looked up the screen name and it was tristanhilton85. Sorry for misspelling your first name Tristan.
  17. There is several people associated to this site that already know me or of me, and have played golf with me. I am Triston's buddy (don't know his screen name at the moment), the one who played at the October 13, 2013 golf event at Oak Quarry in Riverside. #winners...Just kidding, I don't tweet. Anyhow, I am from Coachella, California, play excessive amounts of golf, study philosophy, and excited about synthesizing the two in my posts throughout this forum. Although, as my 'Title' implies, I am a procrastinating poster, so it is very likely I will not post punctually. My first name is Barrett and you may refer to me by screen name or proper. I'm open to interrogation with respects to golf and life choices, but refrain from any questions regarding my choices of club attire (funny in my head). #quirky Well, once again, its great to be on the in, and toast to a fruitful relationship.
