  1. Thank you for your feedback.
  2. Hi. I will be traveling to Bandon Dunes in a few days and will have 2 half days and 6 full days to play. Will be staying off the course. Any advice on course recommendations, dining options, things that you would have done differently with the trip in hindsight, etc. would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
  3. Hi, I'm looking to purchase a practice mat and net and was hoping that I'd find some feedback on ones that golfers on here have been happy with. If it matters, both the net and mat will be indoors all of the time (garage). Thanks in advance.
  4. Can anyone provide a course recommendation in the Ft. Myers area? Much appreciated, thanks.
  5. Vokeys are the best in my opinion. Also have played the Cleveland CG12's and liked them a lot, but the Vokeys are the best I have ever hit.
  6. I play the CG12 52*/10* and the Vokey SM 58*/12*. Each have certain qualities and I use them under different circumstances obviously. The Cleveland hits the ball a lot more 'clean' if that makes any sense. On a scale of 1-10, spin is a 9 and control is a 10 for me. I can stop a shot out of a moderate rough at as little as 100 yards within 3 feet. Shorter than that, it will roll a little more. Fairway shots produce more spin of course. I do not play the Vokey (which doubles as a SW) unless I am within 70 yards. I play V1x, and it can cause more back spin than I want when struck full (for me 90 yards). If the green is sloping even slightly towards you, it is very easy to hit 1/3 to 1/2 into the green only to end up on the front fringe. However, on short chips from around the green to 30 yards out, it is priceless. You can flop over a bunker from some thick grass and hold the ball really well, even if the green is sloping away. So for this, I love it. I'd be interested to see if the Cleveland 58* has similar characteristics. One thing I will say to differentiate the two, I love taking the Cleveland out of the bag on a shot. A lot of times I wish I had been a little farther or closer to the green just so I could play the Cleveland as opposed to the PW or Vokey. The Vokey SM is probably not something that everyone would like, but I could not imagine anyone not liking the Cleveland 52* that I play. Hope this helps, any questions, let me know.
  7. Joke. Just my opinion, although I love the hole, I do not think it should be a 17. It should be on the front. A slight miss hit or wind gust has way too much impact too late in a round. Making it the first playoff hole exaggerates the above. I agree with an earlier poster's thought - start at 18, then 16...then 17.
  8. Hi, A friend's wife asked me to help her purchase a few clubs for her husband who is just starting the game. Some info: He owns a set of hand-me-down game improvement irons, a couple of hand-me-down wedges, a hand-me-down Nike 9.0 driver, stiff shaft. She wants to spend $300-$400. Individual is early 30's, in shape with sufficient athletic ability and has only been on a golf course 1, maybe 2 times. My thoughts: Go with a new driver, the one I had in mind was the Taylor Made R580, w/ regular shaft which I believe now sell for somewhere around $100. It's a pretty forgiving club and it should allow him to figure out what he likes in a driver. Go with something in the 19*-21* range on a forgiving hybrid to help get the ball off the ground and act more friendly than a 3I. Go with something in the 25* range on a hybrid to help get out of the rough and cover the 160-180 yard range. The latter two should be able to be purchased for $300 or less total. Wedges are too personal to select for someone else and irons would obviously be out of consideration. Bottom line is that I'd like to select clubs that would help break 100 within a year and make the game enjoyable. He can sort out what he likes/dislikes after that. Please give me any opinions and be as specific as possible (ie. what manufacturer/model, why, etc). Thanks for any help.
  9. Taylor Made TP Rescue, 19*.
  10. Cleveland CG12 52*/10* Titleist Vokey SM 58*/12*
  11. For now, Jack but there is a lot of time for Tiger yet.
