  1. It's amazing the difference that will make, I used to live at the beach.. Sea level very heavy salt air, then went to my moms place, about 80 average temp during the day, and 1500 feet or so... Big difference.
  2. man I would love to play there... but I'm on such a limited budget as it is, 35 for a weekend round kills me, but I'll have to make it down there to play... Course looks beautiful and hard.
  3. oh tell me about it I've had the same driver since 04ish I believe and same irons for quite sometime now... I haven't had the heart to break it to the wife, I'll be needing to drop 2g's on all new golfing equipment after this season... Maybe we'll win the lotto and I won't have to. Although my equipment is still getting the job done, I really have had my eye on the r7 tp irons, I've hit them once and I really loved em... Maybe next year.
  4. number 1 is the hardest hole on the course, 18 being the easiest... Although I disagree sometimes w/ that assesment.
  5. I really hate riding.. I have never enjoyed it.. I'm currently rehabing a broke left tibia, and after 18 (two weeks ago) I could barely walk, but I played 18 yesterday and today and my leg feels great. Not only do I like the exercise, I also enjoy the time I have to think about my next shot at it normally seems faster than the carts.. I really hate when I'm behind a 4some using two carts and they are driving all over the place looking for balls, watching every players shot it just seems like it takes forever.. I don't hate riders, but walking and carrying my clubs is the way to play it imo.
  6. I shot my personal best today (75, +4)... 7 bogies, 3 birdies... Drove the ball amazing straight, hit good wedge shots, had some good up and downs... and putted very well. I'm really excited about my play of late, I have never put this much work into golf before, and it's paying off. I'm loving this game.. My goal for the end of the year is to shoot even par.
  7. My longest today was about 286 at sea level w/ a little wind to my back... I average though between 240-280 and sometimes can launch one here or there over 300... I'm 25 (already?) 5'8" 170lbs. Which seems short compaired to my best friend, he can bomb it 340 or so at the most... It's amazing.
  8. Great post, I know for me personally, I try to completely focus and commit to every shot. I think I do a really good job of relaxing and keeping my feelings in check. If I hit a bad shot, or have a bad round, I really try to put it out of my mind and focus on whats next.
  9. Easily enough, today... Par 5 straight away 526 yards... I pulled my tee shot left in the rough and could only punch out under a tree from there which left me about 150 to the hole.. Hit my 7 iron horrible pulled it hard about 20 yards short left, which left me only a low chip shot to get it on the green w/ Took out 6 iron, and knocked a low liner into a bank just before the green, bounced up and rolled to about 15 feet, two putted for par.
  10. Just got home after shooting a 79 (40/39).... Par 72, pretty good for the first time playing this course... The greens I normally play are super slow, but these greens were firm and fast and I loved them.... Lipped out probably 4 putts, but my lines were great and my speed was right on.. Only had 2 1 putts which was dissapointing and a couple 3 putts.
  11. congrats, it feels good shooting a bp.. Especially if your putting well.
  12. One thing I immeditalety noticed was how much your head is moving... try to keep it as still as possible.... You are starting your down swing from over the top, try to lead with your lower body, and drop your hands.... Other than that, your swing looks pretty good for being your age... A way that helps me come more from the inside is keeping my right elbow almost attached to my body
  13. Got in a twilight nine, just got back... shot 41, which was pretty good considering the triple I got on the first hole... As usual, I came on after 3 holes, and started playing pretty well... Made a 10 foot birdie putt on 5, and got up and down really well on 9 after blading my second shot about 20 feet past the green... I can shape it really well w/ my 3 wood off the tee, but my driver I have a hard time hitting a draw or fade on demand... It's coming along nicely though, this is my 1st season in nearly 4 years of serious golf.... Not sure why I quit playing, I'm having a blast.
  14. cause I took that second quote from a different website, here's the link just to make it square Link
  15. that video wasn't him playing after, it was him making an ass of himself... Which isn't hard to find... Link
  16. It's funny how Bush even lies about this... There are pictures of him playing golf after he so called quit out of respect... He quit the same time he tore a ligament in his knee and had to quit running because of pain... Now it's out of respect for the people killed by this disastrous occupation.... Bush is a sad man. /rant http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z3p9y_OEAdc
  17. dude that is really sick, I've been to Laguna before, just for a track day back when I actually raced, the track is sick.. What corner did you work? I'm guessing w/ the picture of Nicky's bike you were working turn 1, just sitting on a GP bike would give me a hard on. I remember coming up to the cork screw for the first time, after only seeing it on TV... TV doesn't do it justice, it's a 3 story drop damn near. If at all possible I would love to make it down there and work the track, how did you get that gig anyways? It sounds like an awesome hook up, and probably some of the best seats in the house...
  18. Hell yeah I am... I grew up racing motorcycles and raced against Nicky when we were both kids, back in his flat track days... Obviously he went on to great things, but I know Roger, and Nicky... Both really cool guys. Thats a sick picture bro, laguna is sick... I just wish I could to watch a GP race in the states... Indy would be awesome.
  19. I just stumbled upon this site as well, I'm not too far from you. I've been playing since 14 though, so about 10 years w/ 3 year break from 21 till just this year. It's a great game, and seems you have a great mentalitly about it....
  20. Played pretty good today, a lot of Greens in reg... Shot a 38 (+3), birdied the 1st... Thats matches my BP, missed a lot of putts though, and 3 putted twice.... Need to keep working on my short game.
  21. Wheelabrator Tech, and forklift driver... I work my ass off just to play golf... If you saw me at work, you wouldn't think I'd be a golfer
