  1. thanks for the feedback..the more a investigate the more the i10s seem to be smaller looking club with a little less offset for guys who like that kind of "look". like the guy at the proshop said, not enough benefit for being more difficult to hit. g10's it is.
  2. So went to the local golf joint to get fit for a new set of ping irons. I'm having trouble deciding which to buy. I'm about an 18 handicap, sort of a repectable beginner looking to improve a great deal in the next few years. I'm left handed so they only had a 7 iron of each club for me to hit into a net. I hit the G10 pure everytime, the i10 i could feel a little mishit now and then, but knew for sure when i hit one on the screws. im playing the largest clubs known to man, the big bertha 05' irons, so even the g10 is smaller than im used to. bottom line is i want one of these sets BAD now...they both felt great to hit. The club fitter guy said the g10 for sure. just easier to hit and no real down side when compared to i10. my thoughts: G10 - for sure would enjoy them right away, but wouldn't force me improve my ball striking over time. might outgrow them in a few years. i10 - more mishits, may struggle to adjust at the beginning, but would assist me to become a better golfer over time. would not out grow them for a number of years. could learn to work the ball both ways without fighting a huge offset (can draw big berthas very easy, difficult to hit a cut). i'm 50/50 at this point. any thoughts? it wouldn't be the end of the world to buy g10s and sell them in a couple/three years and move to more of a player iron at that time.
  3. I wasn't expecting such a nice course...I thought the big price tag was because of the views/amenities and location. But I thought it was a great course. Tough but fun. The views are ridiculous. Highly recommend!
  4. i think you have to be approaching scratch to twirl the club as much as you do. just kidding....
  5. big bertha '04, because im an 18.
  6. i use the big berthas and I really like them. the faces are so ginormouos they are difficult to mishit too badly. very wide sole eases fatty punishment and they are soo beefy (heavy) that even the skuller balls go long time (bad for those 30 yard pitches!!) in contrast i have CG 12 wedges and I feel I have to be MUCH more precise on striking the ball, but when I do hit it right..it feels so pure. i have a bad habit of hitting a bit too far behind and taking a huge divot (the size of a section of rolled lawn. Also the faces are much smaller and i have shanked some off the hosel of the shaft. i dont know if it is the weight of the clubs, but i dont consider myself a big hitter, but my irons have normal distances, 8i = 150, 7i = 160, 6i = 170, ect.
  7. i bought last years clima cool blaze for $50 at golf shoes only. wore them last night on a wet course and my feet were totally soaked!!! didnt realize they would make a show that water could get in so easily....i have to wear my old shoes when it is wet apparently.......
  8. chambers bay? or creek?
  9. I'm using a grandpa style 13 degree (nike sasquatch 460 lucky 13) with regular flex. i like the high trajectory when i hit it correctly. (on the rare occasion i do). i have the most problems with my driver. still haven't figured out how to use it. slice, hook, fade, draw (i like those!)...no consistency.
