  2. So, this is it ! I know its a Spalding and one of the many that were cranked out, but this has the stylised Calamity Jane , Scottie Cameron logo style on it and when I google Calamity Jane putters this one never comes up … It would be great if someone could shed some light on this version.. I believe it to be late thirties maybe early forties> It was given to me by a very old friend who acquired it from a pro shop secondhand in England after he left the airforce after WW2 ! It has Spalding stamped on the sole !!
  3. Have been watching the australian Women's Open and have been pondering the Olympic Games Golf gold medal battle in Rio We on Australia have our clutch of " ozzie" Koreans and have noted many representing other nations !! What are they doing right in Korea with ladies golf ? Obviously a lot going right ! The men left far behind ! What is it ? What's going on ?
  4. Well thanks for that tip , tried it out on range today , just turned my feet out a bit more and BINGO , much more stable to enable a better turn .... Cheers
  5. My first game of golf when I was about 12 years old, no lessons, but just grabbed the club like i did a cricket bat, same as a baseball grip, I did it because it was natural to me and just about everybody I believe !!! I played golf rarely as it wasn't my sport, but played for fun around the local public course…but the 10 finger was the GO…….. until later on in life I took up the golf clubs and played more seriously, had the lessons and played with the overlap grip because I was told it was the way to proceed, It felt weird but I persevered with it got me down 5 handicap!! now ,age has caught up with me and the game has deteriorated to the point I have no idea where the ball is going to go , army golf they call it left, right, left right left left left and so on!! My game today had hit rock bottom , until in desperation with 5 holes left, I did it, I changed back to the 10 finger grip not used for years!!!! BINGO , praise the Lord, The grip felt like it always did, comfortable , solid , natural, and like your old pair of jeans, and it worked a treat and finished off with 5 pars with a lipped out putt for birdie!! So thats it, hope restored !! until the next crisis!!!
  6. Hi Shorty once again. This particular club is not a bore through, it is identical to later heads that have an adaptor. The difference be that the screw going into the adaptor is smaller than the current adaptor screws and needs a different tool to fit it !! Cheers
  7. Hi Shorty, I think I'll be able to have the adaptor removed and as it differs with the current one and put the shaft into another conforming Titleist head. The exercise has actually confirmed tthat this combo is good for me at present !! However I am a tinkerer and it is a bit of fun messing around with older clubs !!
  8. Thanks very much clarifying that Nemicu and now makes sense. Will now remove the shaft as that is terrific and add it to a conforming head!
  9. Hi Nemicu , thanks for that info, I would just like to ask you it what aspect is it non-conforming , is it the face with more trampoline affect etc etc. I've just spoken to Titleist Australia who are non-committal about that , would need to see it etc etc Cheers
  10. So, that's a bit of a blow then , it cost me $50 but it has sorted my fitting out!! Thanks everyone

  12. Yep , hope I can attach pic
  13. I am puzzled by a Titlelist 909 D2 with a Matrix Ozyk xcon5 regular shaft….. I acquired this club at a pawn shop who have great bargains available from time to time... I took it to the range and it was love at first shot, a marriage made in heaven!!! Now I looked this club up on the Titleist website and it differs with mine! whereas mine has adjustment ability to change shafts with an adaptor and the pic on Titleist doesn't have this ability ….. It is genuine Im quite sure!! My current tool for later drivers appears too big to fit the screw head on the 909 that also has weight adjustment also…... I am hoping someone could shine a light on this for me and hopefully acquire a tool to fit it, tho as i said earlier its going great (for now)
  14. Thanks for that. I am making a set up this week with Tour stiffs cutting shafts to 5.75 FCM. As it happens KBS are the reincarnation of Brunswick as far as I can tell. Brunswick shafts was started by Dr Joe Blaley father of Kim Blaley = KBS Dr Joe invented the Frequency Coefficient Matched measurement. Well I hope I'm right in this !! But I think so if not someone will put me right I hope

  16. Back in the nineties I had a set of Mizuno TP 11's with Brunswick shafts (stepped)borrowed from a pro golfer friend of mine, I loved em!! I triend to get a set of my own but failed, then along came Precision Rifles. the question I would like to ask of you fellow Sandtrappers is the Brunswick shaft which had the FCM on them the ancestor of FBS shafts? Reading the characteristics of KBS they sure sound like the Brunswicks I so enjoyed 20 years ago?
