  1. You use the arrow to indicate which side you missed - pointing straight up for fairways hit; easy Yes, that's how I use Up & Down, usually from 50 yards and in. In rare cases, like if I yank a drive dead left, hit a tree and bounce back out into the fairway 250+ yards out still and have to hit a 7 iron around the dog leg, I'm still 90+ yards out on my 3rd shot into a par 4 so I don't record it as an unsuccessful up-and-down, just put nothing there.
  2. The manual explains how to keep track of what you need - using just three boxes, very simple once you start doing it. Write your score, then in superscript the number of putts on that hole, in subscript draw an arrow indicating your drive. The next box, just put down the distance/length of your first putt. Finally, in the last box, write down G for a green hit, or SS / UD with/without a line through it indicating an unsuccessful/successful sand-save or up-and-down. Pretty straightforward :)
  3. FWIW, not quite a TV viewer calling it in, but here's one where Wie was disqualified less than three years ago. Interesting stuff ...
  4. Thank you for posting legitimate distances!! I'm a full club shorter than you, and I know my distances are accurate. It amazes me to read about the high handicappers hitting 270 yard carries with their drivers ("I really flushed it that one time") and 180 yard 7-irons. I've played with guys that actually do hit it that far, but they're all single digit guys.
  5. Erik, any thoughts about providing a "long game" and "short game" handicap for each round? The Golf Digest challenge had a formula for this (last year I think) and it was pretty cool to break a round down like this. I know we can look at the putts, scrambling etc but is there a way to calculate this based on the data already entered for each round?
  6. Well said, agree totally. I always have my phone on vibrate, checking emails every few holes (on weekdays); completely non-disruptive, no reason to turn the phone off. If I have to make a call, I'll do quickly while walking off the tee, away from the others in my group (I'll either scurry up or hang back a bit, so I'm mostly out of earshot). 10-20 seconds is all it takes to quickly check in as needed, then back to the golf. It's those that have extended conversations without regard for the foursome that give all cell phone users a bad name!
  7. You've had to chip/flop from the putting surface multiple times?? LOL, stop hitting your shots so far off line IMHO, it's bad etiquette to take a wedge out on the putting green when playing a casual/practice round. If this were a tournament, by all means do what you have to do to get the ball closest to the hole; but it sounds like you were playing a casual round, and I think the ranger was right to admonish you for hitting a lob shot on the putting green. Frankly, I'm with Erik - you just don't need to do that in this situation - doesn't matter what your handicap/ability is.
  8. Played ProV1's for a couple of years, just switched (few weeks ago) to the Callaway Tour iX. I really like this ball, seems like I picked up a little yardage off my driver, has nice feel around the greens. Pretty similar to the ProV1, guess I just wanted a change :)
  9. Sweet! What ship date did they originally give you when you placed the order? Curious if they were conservative with the estimate and were able to get it out earlier? I'm about two weeks away from my ship date, and am hoping that they can ship sooner - hard waiting!!
  10. Sweet, enjoy them!! How long did it take for you to receive these, when where they ordered? I just placed my order last week (with PX 5.5, + 1/2" and 2* upright) and was told it would take almost a month to ship - hard waiting for these to get here! :(
