  1. Yesterday I shot 74. Not my greatest round. I just bought a new titleist D2 and used it for the first time on the course. I hit all but one fairway with it when I hit it. I didn't hit the ball solid at all but managed to make a lot of pars courtesy of my short game. I shot 35 on the front and 39 on the back. I didn't have one birdie the entire round!
  2. I'm using a stiff shaft. I'm just looking for accuracy right now. I don't care If I loose 20 yards I'm not worried about distance.
  3. I hit all of my other clubs straight and sometimes with a 5 yard draw. With the driver I hit slices, hooks, and sometimes a good shot. I want to get it re-shafted because I think the shaft is wrong for me. It still has the stock shaft on it. My swing speed with a 5 iron is 95 mph. So I have the hyper x 6.0 shafts on my AP2's. I was wondering if anyone has a steel shaft on their driver or knows anyone that does or if it a good idea or not. If not What would be a good shaft for me. My ball flight is fairly high, and my swing speed is fast.
  4. Well They are paying for about 250 for them and out of my 2 grandparents they are paying 200 each and then I have to pay for the rest, but I am still very happy. Who wouldn't be.
  5. I just turned 16 and for my birthday my parents and other relatives wanted to buy me some new irons. I had been asking for years. I have been playing Nike NDS irons for the past 3 years and they were fine for a while, but now I am about 6'4 and the irons had standard length shafts. I got my irons fitted for my swing. I got the Project X (6.0) Shafts, 3/4 in up from standard, and 2 degrees upright for the lie angle. As you can imagine it is taking me some time to adjust to the new clubs. Especially the length because with the shorter irons I was forced to stand very close to the ball which caused me to have a very steep swing. I was hoping if anyone had any advice on how to make the adjustment a little smoother. I was thinking about hitting some balls with my new clubs then switching back to my old clubs and back to my new clubs again to get used to the differences.
  6. My home course is right next to the shore so it is quite windy. I am very comfortable hitting my 4 and 3 iron after some practice. For my knockdown shot I take my 3 or 4 iron and play the ball middle or back of my stance depending on how low I want it and I usually shorten my stance. I don't why, but for me this helps. I choke up on the club about an inch and I take a 3/4 swing and try to keep my left hand flat. I think about keeping the back of my hand pointing at the target.
  7. As others have said, short game is key to lowering your scores. Over 65% of your shots (maybe more) will come from within 100 yards. So practice hitting your wedges from 100 yards and in. Also work on putting a lot. I know it gets boring, but You will be happy with the results.
  8. Your swing looks pretty good. You have a good althletic move too the ball. One thing that I did notice is that you seem to be "swinging out of your shoes" a little bit. I have had trouble with this in the past too. Just try to smooth your tempo up a bit and swing a bit easier. You should be hitting with about 80% of your power on an average shot. Sometimes distance isn't about a fast swing as it is with solid contact. I have slowed my swing down and I am now getting even more distance than I have in the past. 7/10
  9. I noticed that at the top of your backswing you release the club too early. You almost un-cock your wrists. Instead try to hold it off and keep the butt of the club pointing down almost as if you are pulling a string.
