  1. If I had to say anything, I would probably shorten your swing and keep your left arm straight.
  2. Not really exclusive but I played Half Moon Bay where they had an LPGA event a couple years back. I knew a friend who was invited through one of his clients to play at San Francisco Golf Club. Probably had one of the most jealous feelings ever...
  3. There are plenty of reasons that the ball could be doing that. The most obvious I can imagine is you may be coming off your stance on impact. Basically, you stand up as you come down to hit the ball. Another reason is there is no weight transfer from your back foot your forward foot. (If you're using a traditional swing and not S&T;). Of course, without a video it's hard to say. One practice technique I do to keep me from standing up and also keeps my shoulder square at impact is on the start of my downswing, I "feel" like I'm trying to keep my back facing the target. Also, work on tempo because when I was a beginner, I always rushed by downswing. With short irons, especially wedges, you don't need to have a lightning fast swing. If you can post a video, we can take a better look at whats wrong.
  4. Looks like the club is going to far to the inside on your back swing, which could be why you're coming over the top. Overall, a good swing.
  5. The last time Tiger missed the cut was because his father passed away. This time, it's because of a knee surgery which he has always come out strong. And as was said, Tiger owns Torrey Pines. Not sure he'll be leading after the first 2 rounds but he'll definitely make the cut
  6. Assitant Location Manager for Hertz.
  7. Practice my short game more: Lately, I've been going to the range to practice my irons and my woods. I usually don't stop by the practice green so I haven't been getting it close to the hole each round...hence a lot of 3 putts, which I have to try to eliminate. Relax and not think too much: On the course, I've always let my body get the best of me. I have to remember to relax my muscles for each swing and not get too tense. Get more control of the ball : After getting my new irons and wedges recently, I want to start giving myself more shot options (draws, fades, flops, spin, etc.) to both get myself out of tight lies and hit optimal shots on approaches. To help me do this, I started taking lessons to help me more with my short game and iron play. By the end of the year, I'm hoping to drop my scoring average to around the mid-80s.
  8. I have the White Hot XG#1 and even though I love playing with it, I think it's time to move to a much firmer feel. It looks great, but I feel like I don't have the control or feel I want with the soft inserts. It all depends on your preference of feel and design. If it's "feel" you're looking for, Odyssey does offer the XG and the Black series where one is soft and the other firm. Whereas Scotty does not have inserts like the Odyssey putters do. I'm moving away from inserts and will soon be looking into a Scotty
  9. There may be a couple of things why the ball is going pretty high. Check to see if your tee height is right. Normally half the ball should be above the face of the driver or even lower than that. Also, your tee position. When you address the ball, check to see where it is relative to your stance. If it's too much inside your left heel, then you might be hitting it too high on the face. Also, I just recently switch drivers from a 10.5 to a 9.5 loft and added 10 more yards to my drive. It may be because of the driver. My 10.5 driver was a Nike SQ and I switch to a Titleist 907D2. Both had a UST V2 shaft on it. My Titleist ball flight was slightly lower. But I would still go to your local proshop and try out lower lofted drivers to see if you get your desired ball flight.
  10. Titleist recently released the Z Blend irons where the short irons are muscle backs and the a cavity progressively builds as you get to the longer irons. It helps if you want a uniform set of irons. Getting blades may actually open up your game a little more. There may be a slight learning curve but I think it will give you a lot more shot options to put in your arsenal.
  11. I'll always keep the 3 iron in my bag no matter how bad I hit it. Though I hit it poorly on some shots, I think perfecting the abilities with the long irons helps your abilities with your clubs throughout the bag.
  12. I use an Odyssey White Hot XG #1. I've used older, oversized Odyssey Putters (DFX 1100 and the 2-ball), but I liked the feel of a blade putter so I switched. I like the White Hot XG series, but I'm thinking of getting a putter with a firmer feel...maybe the Black Series or even a Scotty
