Help with balls
scooterguitar replied to scooterguitar's topic in Balls, Carts/Bags, Apparel, Gear, Etc.
Just played a round with the Dt Rolls. Really like them! Think this is the one! I was getting good distance and my trajectory was a wee lower. Decent enough feel for me! I think I like the actual feel of the Juice better, but these go farther and lower for me. I was afraid they would be rock-like, but aren't. Maybe all this goofy info will help someon else. So...DT Rolls and ProV for serious times. -
I had tried a used 5300 with the pro v2 (I believe), hit the piss put of it, but the lft was 10.5 or I would bought it right then and there. Same thing, all the models I've tried with the stock Diama (reg and stiff) just balloon up on me like crazy. With my old and new swing. I tend to try them every other time I'm at a golf shop.

This is what I need! 2 big ?'s... ?...Which shafts (that are commonly found on these) are designed for lower flight, as per the V2 comment above? Is the 5000 face more open compared to the square? or the same at address/looks?

Thanks man!

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...m=290247034821 Ok, this one the predecessor to the 5000? or is it the one before that? All the names/#'s are confusing! Basically I am trying to find a used one 8.5 with something different than the Diamna shaft

need a lightweight bag
scooterguitar replied to scooterguitar's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
Thanks guys, I've used the push carts before and they just aren't for me as they stress the old arms more than slinging it on the back. The ones I "want" are around 5pds. I guess. Now if I could get by with only ever needing one ball! -
So, I always ride, but know once the cold weather sits in and I can't rent a cart, there will be days I need ot get out there and walk. I love the looks and style of the Mizuno GTX and Titleist X86, but have been looking at those Sun Mountain 3 pounders with only two slots. My ?...with say minmal clubs and baggage, woudl the 1.5 pd heavier ones I like be that much more? I have all sorts of health problems, but am young. I know my loaded bag now would kill me! I'll likely take maybe 10 clubs when I walk.
-
Yeah, I think I might go for the 5000 as they seem to be cheaper.

Thanks DD. I just read sandtrap s review on the ruling. WHat a crock of....! Plain and simple stupid. What's to stop them from banning guys taping their fingers and such. I almost bought one today, but bought the FJ orange flexy one instead. I'll have to try the Bionic and see if I can get banned:>)

What, illegal or are you guys pulling my leg? How can it matter? I have arthritis, CTS, and tendonitis, anything can help. My big ? is, do those extra pads get in the way or feel uncomfortable?

anyone use/try?

soooo, looking to snag a Sumo. IS the square head truly that much more straight?

Well how cool! We are actually going to go play Red Hawk this week. They have anniversary special of $25 for 18 w/cart any day after noon. I'm originally from Defiance, Auglaize (White Pines' owner used to be the super there) is where I used to play 75% of the time, now I'm in Napoleon so I have been driving all around. If I do join a club next year, it will be White Pines.

Bought some DT rolls, we'll see. I'm seeking lower trajectory. -
I think the op was just pointing that out, not intending only he should have gotten the rc. TOo bad

nay Corey Pavin

Hated the Burner rescue Adams Pro Tour was nice. Cally FT is really cool, but think my Titleist 585h is my new fav, likel gonna try to swap the FT for another 585. JUst feels so solid and easily workable.
-
I hate the refinised balls. Tried 36 of the REload Prov's, seemed almost harder and I just didn't enjoy them. I did buy a doz of the $30 Prov xouts and those play and "feel" just fine.

Good stuff guys. Just got back, nice course. Played pretty decent first 9, then blew my shoulder out on the turn and should quit right there, but didn't. The tee you suggested are what I played and they were the right match. Per the other ? above...the tees do matter. I usually play the whites, one group of pals always demand to play the tips so I go along with it if no one is around. A mere 15 yards on the box can truly make a huge difference. Gives another perspective totally. Hazards can REALLY come into play or out of play opposed to the whites. I do enjoy the back tess on occasion, but know I shouldn't be as stated above. If no one is behind ya, go for it, but if you do play the backs and people are around better make sure your pushing that ball down the middle pretty darn good. We all hate being back of people hacking or slow playing.

Thanks. Here's today's scorecard, should I be playing the white or green? http://www.whitepinesgc.com/id15.html
-
Ok, I've always played public courses and such with red, white, and blue. Now I am starting to get on better courses and they have numerous tees to choose from. black, white, green, yellow. black= pro white= regular for me? green= ladies? yellow= seniors?

hybrid, different co's. ?
scooterguitar replied to scooterguitar's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
I have tried most of what has been mentioned with the exception of the Nickent. I like the FT and 585 likely due to the head size and shape. Yes. I could care less if my clubs match, was just unsure about the whole iron/hybrid replacement thing. For those who have tried, actua; performance difference between 3dx and 4dx? -
Haven't played in 6 years. So what's changed?
scooterguitar replied to JessN16's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
I too got back in the game this year, looks like we quit around the same time. SO much has changed. All the above is true and I'll add...I was and am totally suprised at how much shaft variance now makes (maybe it always did) in club performance. same head, same stiffness but with different toruque, kick points can make or break many clubs for you in your buying decision. So if you try clubs and think you like one but aren't happy, check around usually you can find one with a different shaft that can be the one.
