  1. At this stage in my game, twice.
  2. I am looking for a day or two of no rain so I can play golf on a relatively dry course.
  3. I also run (along with the wife) a small bed and breakfast in NW Arkansas.
  4. When I started playing, a friend handed me a big ol' bag of balls his kids scrounged from the local course. There were Calloway, Taylormade, Titleist, MaxiFli, and assorted others. So far, I am still playing from that bag. I weeded out all the scruffy ones and only use them for practicing chipping in my yard. in the first few months, I went through quite a few of them, but I have played with one Taylormade, for three rounds. There were a few close moments when I though I had lost it, but I have recovered it each time. (I supposed, I just jinxed myself, for my next round.) Anyway, if my luck holds, I will probably be playing out of that bag for the rest of the year.
  5. I suppose there were some phone calls before the he actually pulled the cord on his bail-out. No, I had gotten to like ol' Houston, and thought he got a lot of grief from the Springdale fan club. I suspect a lot of why McFadden opted for early NFL draft was because of Mr. Nutt leaving U of A. And the sad part, as a Bronco fan, was not just seeing Darren leave U of A, but to see him go to the RAIDERS!!.
  6. Well, so far, this is my home course. http://www.bigsugargolfclub.com/
  7. Well, he didn't actually quit Atlanta for Arkansas. He quit Atlanta, and the dumb-a@# new Athletic director flew to Atlanta to hire him 'cause everyone else was saying "no, thank you" With this new coach, and McFadden off to the Raiders, I don't see a lot of wins here in Arkansas, this year. I really hated seeing the old man go.
  8. But, I AM a geek. It is probably the same notion that requires hunters to wear those orange vests and such. The blues, greens and browns can fade into the background, but bright colors make you more visible when you are down range looking for your ball, and the guys behind you can tell the field is not yet clear for them to open fire.
  9. Amen to that. When it stops raining, that is exactly what I am going to do this afternoon. The course I have been playing at doesn't seem to care what anyone wears, as long as it is is not indecent, but I am sure that my game will improve to a point where I might be invited to some more upscale clubs, so I would really like to know about apparel "etiquette". I really could care less about what other peoplea are wearing, and I can certainly get the no t-shirt thing and and the bit of not wearing shabby, worn clothes, but what's up with jeans?
  10. I got to second this question: What's the problem with jeans? I confess to being almost as new to golf as to the forum, but up til this weekend, all I ever wore was jeans. I much prefer seeing jeans to cargo shorts, myself, but I have plenty to concern myself with before worrying much about what other folks are wearing on the course.
  11. I am tech support for a large data systems/communications corp. I am pretty new to golf, like less than a year.
