They are lasers that are software controlled. When the pro finds the proper ball position for the player, the controller "learns" the position of the lasers. Then, when the player returns for practice, he/she selects the desired club and the beams are rotated to the learned position.

I move the ball around depending on the type of shot I am attempting to hit.
