  1. Anyone know how I can get my hands on a putter like Rosie's ? It is a flow neck, milled, squared blade. http://www.golfwrx.com/285411/justin-rose-witb-2015-2/ see here (sorry to post a wrx link) Just wondering if anybody knows any specific putters on the market that are like his, regardless of manufacturer. Maybe a scotty?
  2. I like Taylormade too. R7's are certainly getting old so you are missing out on a lot of technology. But you don't necessarily have to go for the new RS irons from TM. My favorite thing to do is buy 1-3 years old irons on ebay and then get all the custom work done to them I can. You'll save at least a few hundred bucks that way and it's fun. Taylormade rocketballz, rocketbladez, speedblade, burners, burner 2.0....all these iron heads will probably play just as well for you as the RS's. And you're going to go get the proper shafts you said, that to me is much more important than the iron head. That's how I think you should do it.
  3. I want to grind my cast iron clubs (nike ignite 4-9i). Has anyone ever done this?
  4. Any idea if Project X's are sorted by weight or frequency?
  5. I just hit a 7i in both the Taylormade Cb and the Titleist Cb. The feel was incredibly different. I'm already familiar with the differences in the club heads but not with the shafts. The Taylormades had KBS tours and the Titleists had Dynamic Golds. What is the difference, technically, between these shafts? I'm trying to pin point what it was about the KBS's that I liked so much so I can continue to shop for shafts in the same vein as the KBS Tours (i.e. with the same spec's and properties).
  6. I just want to say that Nicklaus and Palmer have both been documented saying that they wish they had learned to putt left hand low. Nicklaus said explicitly that it was "the right way". Obviously saying something is "right" is unwise in golf....but I'm just stating facts here
  7. Do mallets have 0 loft? I know blades have around 3 degrees of loft. Moreover, are mallets technically de-lofted (i.e. negative loft)?
  8. anyone know the length of this grip. The pingman putter grip. or if anyone can give it a quick measurement and post it here, that would be greatly appreciated.
  9. Does anybody have any input on the Ping Scottsdale TR and Karsten TR? I'm in the market for a new flat stick and these two currently have my eye.
  10. I had my vokey 56* bent to 60* recently. That moved the bounce from 10 to 14. I was told it might be hard to hit because of the unusually high bounce (titleist doesn't even produce a 60* in 14* bounce). But I hit the club incredibly well. I haven't had a bad pitch, chip, or swing with it in the 36 holes i have played with it. It is my favorite club now. Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this..I'm thinking this is all due to my swing or height (I'm 5'5''). Maybe all my wedges should have 14* of bounce
  11. I had the same problem for a bit. I ended up narrowing my stance and standing straighter and taller which fixed the problem. -- and kept lower half very quiet I think I just improved my swing overall, but maybe this will help with your toe hits too.
  12. never hit one but that looks freshhhh
  13. I don't know where you live but around me there are multiple golf shops that have used inventory in their retail stores-- and then there is even an awesome used club outlet (they only buy and sell used clubs/extra inventory from all over the country). If you can find a place like that, just go there and set yourself up with some stuff in your budget. If the club fits your eye, that's about all you have to go off of as a beginner IMO.
  14. Are there any colleges out there that have a reputation for being in a great golfing area? I've heard C of C, for one. Lots of courses close to campus.
  15. Has anyone had any experience with wedges that sell for about 40-50 bucks brand new? There's a golf shop I've been in to a few times that sells these particular wedges in every degree (I can't remember the brand name now). The brand is essentially unknown...but they go for a bargain price. They seem decent-- they're nicely wrapped in plastic, they have a clean design, weight feels good, etc.
  16. I play on public courses in CT most of the year. If anyone else plays similar courses you will understand the frustration you feel when your ball ends up sitting on packed down dirt in the rough. Today, I came up short on a long par 3, and I had about 15 yds to the green. The lie in terms of the ground's flatness was fine. But what I hated was that the ball was sitting on a patch of packed down dirt with very little grass, it was even in a bit of a crevasse of dirt. I took out my 56 but couldn't get it on the green. I sent the ball flying over the green. Is this just an unfortunate reality of playing on public golf courses? It seems impossible to make a good shot with these kinds of lies.
  17. So I have a golf league. It's 4 teams of 4. We play every Sunday. Every week two players from Team A play two players from Team B while the other two players from Teams A and B play their own respective opponents. In 7 weeks of golf, both pairs from Team A, B, C, and D will have played every other pair in the league. By the end of the 7 week regular season, we will know which team has the most match play wins and they will be the winning team (barring a tie). Then we want to have 3 more weeks of "playoff" golf. Any ideas/suggestions on a fun playoff format?
  18. What's up everyone, I'm a CT native and current college student. I attend Bentley U. in Waltham, MA and study management. I play pretty much all of my golf on public courses. I'm really excited for this golf season. I've been putting some work in on the range after classes and things are feeling good. I've really focused on keeping my left arm straight through my swing which has helped me strike the ball much better. Anyway, how bout Haas? Seems like he's really got the flat stick working for him right now...
