  1. Here is the face view...smh...I don't know how I ever got down to a 6 handicap with that swing:
  2. Thanks boogielicious, reading through that link was very informative. Now, what to focus on. I noticed a couple things I'm doing that may be causing the inconsistencies. 1. Very flat shoulder turn. 2. I am dipping down in my backswing. Which one would u recommend I start working on first...or is one the result of the other?
  3. I've been Playing Golf for: 5 years My current handicap index or average score is: 8 My typical ball flight is: low Videos: I know my swing is flat, but that is the only way I seem to stay "somewhat" consistent. I really would like to get my hands higher but it just doesn't seem to work for me. Maybe someone could give me some pointers on where to start?
  4. I recently purchased a Callaway FT Tour driver with a UST Elements Chrome x-stiff shaft. I purchased the driver more for the shaft than anything. Questions is, I hit the driver fairly well, however I have a Cobra Amp Cell driver with the interchangeable/adjustable shaft technology and was thinking of pulling the shaft and having the Cobra tip installed and using the shaft in my Cobra driver. Thought I would come on this forum for any comments or advice before I went through with it. So, comment away, would you leave the shaft in the FT Tour or move it over to the Cobra?
  5. Just checking in on this thread. Any updates from GolfNow on possibly changing their policies? I myself have sent several emails, which most have been answered with generic responses, but a few have been answered with responses basically stating they are aware of the issue and are currently evaluating the policy(i know, kind of generic as well, but better than most responses received back). Anyways, like I said, just want to check in and see if anyone has any updates?
  6. Thanks ay33660, I have heard a lot of good things about We-Ko-Pa, we may have to put that on our play list.
  7. Not trying to kill a kids dream, but also will put my 2 cents in. It is one thing to become a scratch golfer on the average muni that most of use are playing. It is a whole different ball game when you are trying to play scratch on the courses and conditions that these tour pros are playing in. I myself thought I was a good putter, until I came face to face with greens that were stimped around 13, let me just say I was humbled...lol Not that it isn't possible, but it takes a whole lot more than just hard work. These guys are just damn good and have a natural feel that most all of us do not have. I have been to the Farmers Insurance Open as well as Tiger Woods Challenge(when it used to be held out here in CA) and when you watch these guys in action, it will blow your mind. This game is effortless to these pros, it is second nature. Anyways, my 2 cents. Good luck!
  8. Thanks, I am starting to think TPC Scottsdale might have to wait till off-peak. Now to narrow it down to what courses to play? I will have to check out Gold Canyon Resort.
  9. Well, I am getting ready to book my 11th round this year(I know, I am slacking) via GolfNow and I am secretly hoping the booking fee will magically disappear, but I know this won't happen. I too have sent my grievances in to GolfNow through as many channels as I could find, hopefully they are getting the message. I have also sited this thread in some of my emails to GolfNow, hoping they see that it is not just a few that are disappointed with the new policy. Like "David in Fl" mentioned, I really don't have a need for Srixon/Cleveland equipment, so the reward really doesn't carry as much weight as waiving the booking fees. I alone booked 175+ rounds for myself last year, that doesn't include booking for the individuals that joined me. So with this new policy, this will add an extra $435 to my golfing tab alone and as I mentioned before this doesn't include the rounds I book for friends that join me. That $435 could be used to buy me a new driver or even some new wedges I desperately need. Anyways, glad to see I am not the only one disappointed. Nice to have a place I can whine, because my girlfriend has heard enough of it already...lol
  10. I will be traveling to the Phoenix\Scottsdale area with friends the weekend of 2/20-2/23 for a weekend golf getaway. We plan on playing at TPC Scottsdale - Stadium and are willing to pay full rates, but it is always nice to find a deal if it is out there. So, other than the traditional booking sites(golfnow, teeoff, etc), does anyone know of any discounts available for TPC Scottsdale- Stadium Course? Also, planning on playing Quintero and Boulders, any recommendations on must plays in the Phoenix\Scottsdale area? Appreciate any help/advice!
  11. Coming from a golfer that booked 175+ rounds through GolfNow last year, I am also saddened that GolfNow will not be waiving booking fees this year. While the rewards are nice, I really don't need Srixon/Cleveland equipment, so I could care less whether or not I receive those rewards. Just my 2 cents.
  12. @mvmac thank you, the videos really made the light bulb go on. I just got home from the range and was feeling quite defeated. I know my frustrations are the direct result of playing with my grip way to much. Your video was very clear as to how to grip and what you are trying to accomplish with the grip. Most videos simply tell you how to grip and forget to mention what you are trying to accomplish with the grip. So, from what I gather, I need to get that left hand a little stronger and the right hand should also be turned a little more to my right?
  13. So, I have been browsing this forum for quite some time, but can't seem to find the answer to my question, so I have joined and now posting away. I have short fat fingers(or at least I think I do) and am having issues with re-gripping the club at the top of my swing. I am always wearing holes in the heel pad of my gloves(no, not because I grip to high on the club). I am aware this a grip issue, but I can't seem to narrow it down to whether I need smaller grips or larger grips, or if I am just gripping the club wrong altogether. I use standard grips at the moment, but I have come to the conclusion that I may need undersized grips because my fingers are short and fat and just don't completely wrap around a standard grips. Especially with my right hand, that hand in particular tends to slide around in the backswing and obviously causes all kinds of trouble. And to add insult to injury my right index finger is shorter than the other fingers because I shattered my knuckle as a child and it just didn't grow with the others...lol So, my question to this forum, what are your thoughts? Do i need smaller grips, larger grips, need to fix my grips or maybe you see something else? I really value any and all input and take constructive criticism well, so fire away. Here are some images of what I am looking at:
