  1. I personally did not vote for either President-Elect Obama or Senator Mccain. I thought it was very sad that these were the best 2 candidates that we chose. But, since Barack Obama was elected I will support him since he is, after all, the soon to be President of the United States. He is not just the President for a certain group of people or for the Democrats of the United States. He is President for all Americans. I hope he can resolve some of the problems in Washington that he brought up in his campaign.
  2. For Magnus, This is straight from, http://www.titleist.com/golfclubs/sh...ts/default.asp The Aldila Voodoo VS6 features a specially designed, one piece, carbon-fiber rib system that keeps the shaft more concentric during the swing preventing ovaling for maximum energy transfer and added stability. Produces low-to-mid launch and low spin. Diamana Blue 73 is a light-weight shaft which offers slightly lower launch and spin than Diamana 63 with excellent feel and stability. For smooth tempo players who want more weight feedback than an ultra-light shaft.
  3. The new Titleist 909 D3 is supposed to have a more penetrating ball flight. The first thing i would do is look for a shaft with a mid/high kick point, because ultimately the shaft is going to control the ball flight. Another thing i would look at is a lower degree. Maybe a 9.5. Some shafts that produce a lower launch for you are, Aldilla Voodo, Fujikura Speeder 757, and the Diamana Blue.
  4. Halo 3: Lvl 42 in TS (thats about all i play)...Gamertag is Superman3307
  5. I dont have '08 but i cant wait for TW '09. I usually play Halo 3 or Call of Duty 4. And i just picked up Civilization Revolution.
  6. I am a very avid golfer and consider myself fairly good at it. But when i am not practicing i find myself playing video games. Anyone else do this?
  7. I use and x-stiff shaft in my driver and i noticed a big improvement from the stiff. The ball fly's lower and straighter. You can tell if you need a x-stiff shaft by getting on a swing speed monitor. If your driver swing speed is over 100mph on average then you should probably go with the x-stiff. That is just with the driver though. I'm not sure what the numbers are with irons.
  8. I think the rough was a little harsh for the PGA Championship. On the other hand it is a major Championship and these guys are Pros. I think one of the reasons for the high rough was to keep the reputation of Oakland Hills being "The Monster", and also for the average golfer watching from outside the ropes and on television it shows that the guys on tour are human. 81 from Mahon on Thursday, 84 from Monty on friday (I loved it), and 85 from Mediate on Sunday. I think that is what the average golfer wants to see.
  9. My suggestion would be to look at the Scotty Cameron line of putters. If you are willing to pay for the Odyssey Black series, which around here (Ohio) retail is around $250, i think for only $50 more you could get the new studio stainless in whatever model you like. Or for the same price you can pick up the Circa model from Cameron.
  10. I would have your teaching pro put you on a swing speed monitor. If your swing speed is between 90-100 mph then you need a stiff shaft. I personally play the Aldilla Proto "byyou" 65x in my driver and i love it, but my swing speed averages 108 with the driver.
  11. All of these posts are correct. First, if your scores are going down with the irons you currently play, then why change? I think as your scores keep coming down i would play blades 6-pw. A blade long iron is very hard to hit. I think as your game improves I would look at the Titleist Z-Blend irons. The long Irons are a cavity back and short irons are blades.
  12. I think we all are watching the greatest golfer to play the game in Tiger Woods. I even think the competition is a little bit harder for Tiger than it was for Jack. Tiger's performance in the U.S. Open was the icing on the cake for me. It just proved that for the field to have a chance Tiger has to play on one leg (and yet he still pulled off the win). Whether you like Tiger or not, you have to put him at the top of the list when it comes to greatest golfers of all time.
  13. I think these last 2 posts are exactly right. The major thing to remember is that golf is a game of patience. You are not going to go out the first time you play and shoot 5 under par, it just will not happen. The best thing to do is get a couple of lessons from your local club professional. I think if you go into the game with an open mind and know that it will take some time to get to be a "good" player it will be much more enjoyable. Golf is a game you can play for your entire life (you can't say that about too many sports). As far as clubs go your local club pro can help you with that. Just remember it takes some time to learn to play the game so go out and have some fun with it. To me there is nothing better than going out and playing a round of golf any day of the week.
  14. I'm in the market for a new set of irons. I currently play Titleist 690mb (2-pw). I was looking at the Titleist AP2 irons or the Titleist ZB combo. Any suggestions?
  15. I have the Aldilla Proto VS "By You" 65x in my Nike Sumo 5000. I don't know if it is Aldilla's new shaft technology or Nike's new driver technology, but that is the longest driver I have ever hit.
