  1. I'm one of my high school matches last year, we were playing in 2 somes and my opposing player kicked my ball behind a tree. I didn't know until after the fact because a spectator told me. I ended up medaling the match though. Karma.
  2. This weekend I am going to my first ever PGA tour event, the BMW Championship. Does anyone have any tips to get the most out this experience? Also, I would like to try and get some autographs, but I'm unsure of how to go about doing this. Keep in mind I'm 16. Thanks.

  4. Hey lads, I am planning to go to the BMW Championship this year and I was just curious about the camera policy. Hopefully someone with experience can help me out. From what I have read, at nearly all events you can not take any photos what so ever, not even on a smart phone. I fully understand this because of the shutter sounds and everything, but I'm a jackass, so I will probably end up taking pictures on my phone anyway. Does anyone know how heavily this is enforced? I doubt I would get kicked out because most of the marshals are volunteers and I just can't see them doing that. Also, there was a Snapchat live event (younger guys will know) for the PLAYERS Championship with hundreds of photos and videos on it, but the website prohibited camera usage. Therefore, I think it must be pretty easy to get away with. If anyone knows anything, spit it out please. Thanks.
  5. I mean I know my abilities and where I can/should be scoring wise. I would normally shoot 44 or so at that course and I have broken 40 almost 10 times. I don't expect a 41 every round or anything, but I expect at least under 50.

    In a Slump

Hi this is my first real post on The Sand Trap. Im a 16 year old high school golfer. On 4/7, I had my first match of my high school career. I ended up surprising everyone by shooting a 41 and medaling the match. After this match, I was pretty optimistic for the rest of the season and I could see myself succeeding in the future. Ever since that match I have been in a pretty bad slump. My best round was a 95 in a tournament. Besides that, I don't think I have broke 50 more than once, and I play about 4-5 times a week. I shot a 55 on Sunday at my home course where I normally average low 40s. My team has also had matches the past 2 days and I shot 53 both times. I have lost my rank on the team and I am now the #6. This is exactly what I did not want to happen. I cannot seem to pin point the reason behind my slump. There's nothing going on in my personal life that could cause it. Also, I am never doubtful of what I am able to do on the golf course. I never go into a round or a shot with a negative attitude. I know I can perform well, it's just a matter of doing it. I believe that I can get my spot back and return to where I was during the beginning of the season. It is just a matter of simply doing it. I don't know what is causing this slump though. Nothing besides the play of my golf game has changed. I do not get frustrated if I mess up because I understand it happens. I have a match tomorrow and I plan to perform well. My coach hasn't addressed my slump to me, so I figured I would come here for advice. How can I get out of this slump? Thanks.
  7. I nearly never pay for golf. i have team practice everyday which is obviously free. Also, my dad works at a course too, so I get to play for free there. I'm probably gonna get getting a cart boy job too which I would assume would give me free golf at that course.
  8. Hello, this is my first post on the forums. I am a high school golfer, but since it is the summer, I lack instruction. I was wondering how I could add I lower-lofted, running chip to my arsenal. Right now, I only hit high-arching chips, no matter what the club loft is; 52,56,60. I need this chip for when I am in a situation when I can not hit my normal chip, such as being under a tree. When in these situations, I usually just bump-and-run with a 3 iron or hybrid. I understand that I should probably would use a 52* when hitting a running chip, but I do not know how to go about doing this. Thanks!
