Agreed, Pinnacle Gold (cheap and a quality ball), great choice for a beginner. As you get better you can trade up through the Acushnet family!

Hit the AP2's this weekend at a demo day...Got fit and low and behold everything was all normal! Love the feel and workability of the irons, a nice middle ground between the R7 TPs (extremely forgiving no feel) and the 735's (great feel but need to hit them perfect). The one piece I am still on the fence on is to go with the Project X (hit them higher) or stick with the proven DG S300. Anyone done this comparison?

Does anyone know why the AP2's went to the Project X Shaft? I currently play the 735 with the Dynamic Gold's and was going to order the AP2's with the DG shaft. Any reasons I should stick with the stock Project X?

I did get a chance to play with them.. and I agree they are a bit much of a "help the golfer" club for a true players iron. I think they work well for an early season set of irons, where all the pieces are not quite fitting together. However as I get back to playing more (hopefully when it warms up) I think the 735's will come back out. Also had a chance to play the TM Superquad, and surprisingly lost abotu 10 yards compared to my TP 425... Not a bad driver though..

How would you compare both sets to the 735's ???

Is anyone out there playing the R7 TP's... I recently picked up a set, and haven't had a chance to play them yet.. Just looking for people opinions? Thanks!

Tried out the TP Blacks today... liked them but not enough to give up the X's... Looks like the 300 pound gorilla isnt leaving the room anytime soon!
