Speaking of risk that I can understand—After living in China ‘fore several years on the grass roots level you get to know the habits there pretty well—The Chinese are free to copy anything without fear from the government if they pay their taxes….so the incentive is very strong to copy everything--and yes they have many great golf courses even though a little expensive…which brings me back to E-Bay—you have a few days after your purchase to examine your goods and say yea or nay for a 100% buy back –never hurts to call the Manufacture >most have a hot line for this very problem of counterfeits; some of which are so well done they have to be cut open to see the difference>> others not so much: even Used clubs should be checked out--- You know when the bidding starts at .99 cents something is up. I’m not an E-Bay expert but I’ve learned the curve fairly well and a rat is always a rat—the other day I noticed a California company on e-bay advertizing they were an “Authorized Mizuno” retailer operating out of the City of Walnut—so I checked with Mizuno they never hear of this company, nor were they on Mizuno’s authorized list…. but their prices for Muzzies were fantastic……I notified E-Bay of this companies claims not sure what has happened. I must say I believe in the original concept of E-Bay but……………

Yes so true—Some of the pro shops in the frozen areas of the US sell their unsold New and Used clubs on E-Bay. I always ask questions even though some sellers get a little testy, but after I express my concern over Fakes on E-Bay they usually calm down. Here’s something that comes to mind every time I look at Mizuno irons on E-Bay and elsewhere, and even though I can go to Mizuno’s website and see their list of Official retailers-- It’s still a little confusing to me that Mizuno wouldn’t adopt a universal plan for club identification. -My custom MP-59’s with Nippon Pro 950’s have the ferrule engraved SR#’s -My Mp-69’s and Mp-63’s both have hosel etched SR#’s Now I want to change to colored ferrules and grips and that will destroy the SR#’s on my MP-59i—so I’m left with a real club which can be questionable in its origin..

I thought I was reading a `slice from the National Enquirer but then I looked again and it was Golf Digest-For that reason I had to yell fore……. There are many opinions about Mr. Woods and many more spoiled athletics in all sports that in my opinion damage the image of the game. There are far worst boys out there than this golfing prodigy who has been at a loss since the passage of his mentor.

Seems like your being a little judgmental about Mr. Phil—Who works for a living, fulfills all his sponsorship obligations, supports his family and is actively involved in community affairs and is well liked and respected among his fellow competitors to include the PGA bigshots. If you can ever reach the same level as Phil has then I might view your comment as creditable otherwise it is just a bunch of noise from a golfer wantabe.

Amen to that—6 hours to play 18 average holes……….wow I guess I’ve graduated to the PGA..

“Sorry if you dont appreciate my honest opinion” Your honest opinion is dually noted and appreciated they were your honest remarks: The game of Golf is an individual played sport, usually man/woman against the course unless its match play—it is not a team sport and there are very few in this sport who can be team leaders. The term ‘Team’ was loosely formatted; these people are individuals who are not team oriented including the Captain who was appointed by the president of the PGA based on his player skill—not his leadership skill. There will always be dissension in the ranks….next time take the politics out of the sport and put the right people at the front of the class and you’ll get better results. Tom was just another player with a title he couldn’t live up too; as part of the whole team Phil was well within his rights as a player and a Team member to speak out……that is just my humble opinion.

I love that game---- Golf: Golf is a game of luck, talent, patience and wit and it should be a Gentlemen sport; yet I see many who will never be referred to as a gentleman let alone a good man or woman—I do see many drinking smoking loud mouth hackers, phone talkers and others who are out to kill some time and even damage a nice course. While it’s easy to be critical…. It’s not hard to see discarded cigarette butts on the course even on the greens, coffee cups, paper trash on the ground, beer bottles on the fairway, people backed up 3 and 4 groups talking on their cell phones while waiting for the duffers ahead to find their ball, or figuring out how to putt their ball. You want to grow the game of golf then you need to get real—it has become the money game for courses and equipment manufactures—the word Gentleman has gone out the door in exchange for $$ and of course politics ---gone are the days when people moved aside to let a better or faster group play through..Indeed many on the course don’t even know even the basic rules let alone know the word etiquette. I can understand why better golfers refuse to play certain courses even though these are challenging and nicely kept courses…..courses are going broke from lack of play secondary to lack of $$ yes of course………golf is the sense of challenge and beauty when you have both it is almost irresistible not to play—keep it that way and the ‘golfers’ will keep coming back….

Tom Watson was a great player and still commands respect in the game of golf; however great he may be doesn’t make him a great leader of others. History has given the world many great athletics but not many have had a successful life after their sport. History has also shown time and again ‘great’ sport people seek out ‘great’ advisors to help guide them. Now the PGA has chosen 11 ‘others’ to solve this simple problem of how to win? Another brilliant move by a few who don’t really know how to guide their own lives yet have the knowledge to guide others…

Today I asked one of the member here this question, as not to put him on the spot ….I’d like to ask all of you as well… I am new here and I have a question but wanted to ask an experienced player. I bought a ‘New’ set of Mizuno MP-H4 from a local golf store; they were the last ones in stock, last year’s model 2013, I think. Everything looks and says Mizuno on them but they don’t have any serial number> is that standard now? I know there are so many counterfeit clubs on the market so I guess it’s hard to know who is selling who……… Thanks Tigerboy

Hi Quinny Wedges are a great tool so I try to adjust my wedges not only to length distances but also to difference courses layouts and the types of traps, grass and soil---To me 1 degree of launch angle isn’t going make that much difference. I carry a 45, 50, 55 most of the time and will add 58 60+ per differences of courses. The 58 and above can be harder to adjust too for most because of the lack of use. I like the Callaway C grind bounce option which allows me to alter the face at will, but it is something I practice all the time. If you’re new to this sport take time to devote to the short game side of golf….good chipping and pitching saves a lot of strokes and make putting easier.
