  1. I got new irons this past fall. I went to a course with an out door range and spent a day hitting different clubs. At the time I was playing MP-57s but I needed something more forgiving because I just dont have the time to play a lot anymore. I went with the intention of getting into another set of mizzys. I hit about 15 diff. sets of irons and bought the one set I didnt want to even look at. Thats right I went to the dark side , Taylor made. I am a TM hater, just never liked them. But the burner 2.0 are just incredible, so easy to hit. VERY VERY forgiving in the long irons. The 3 iron is actually fun to hit, heck I didnt even carry a 3 before. Just get fit, it makes such a big difference. I'm 6'2" so I'm about your size and ended up with +1/2" and *2 upright. One more thing, when you go keep an open mind and dont rule out anything. Also do some homework and get an idea of the going prices.
  2. If you go to golfsmith's site they have a how to video thats pretty good. It helps to actually see it done.
  3. Anyone using the golf guru. Reviews look good plus no annual subscription.
  4. Steelhead plus titleist 975 TM 07 burner Hibore xl TM tour burner cobra L4v
  5. I have a TEE cb2 that is an absolute canon. One of my all time favorites is Callaways steelhead plus.
  6. I have a L4Vf and love it, I did have to reshaft it though. The stock shaft was a little "whippy" for me. Its an incredibly forgiving driver and the sound really doesnt bother me at all. Also, look into the TM 07 burners, I have one very easy to hit though not as long as the cobras.
  7. I used to feel the same way you do. I couldnt hit one for the life of me. If I did hit one solid it was a hook. I hated the way they set up at address. I finally found one that is now my favorite club. The Ben Hogan cft, in my opinion its the best kept secret in golf. It sets up perfect and has a nice weight and feel to it. I hit this club straight every time. Best of all you can get these for under $30 on the bay.
  8. You know you have to tell us about the putter now!
  9. I got a set of MP-57s brand new for $400 off of craigslist. I also just scored a new TM tour burner for $99 shipped. I got in on that leaked employee/family code that was %67 off. By the way so did someone else, check the classifieds.
  10. I have been playing Nike slingshot 4dss and hit them great. I recently got a set of mp57s and hit them solid. However, almost every shot with every iron goes left with a slight draw. They have DG s300 shafts in them, could this be part of the problem? Could a different shaft help or is it my swing. I've never had this happen before.
  11. I used to do the same thing, I would stand over the ball way to long thinking about everything but hitting the ball. Now I stand behind the ball get a good grip and focus on where I'm aiming. Take a few practice swings then address the ball and hit. I found that when I was at the range I could do this and have no problems but when I got on the course I tensed up. I was too tight and lost focus. Give it a try, hope it helps.
  12. I have been hit by someone elsea ball though. I was standing in the fairway waiting for the green to clear and my buddy tees off and hits me on the back of my leg. Another time four of us were on the tee box of a par three waiting for the group ahead of us to finish. My one buddy is at the front of the box facing us gently swinging his club as we talk. Then he decides to take a full swing and hits a huge divot at one of the other guys and it busts him in his package. I laughed the rest of the round because the guy that got hit had on white shorts and had a big mud stain on his groin.
  13. I played in a two man scramble and they paired us up with another team at the course. This kid probably 23 or 24 years old about 5'8" and 150 lbs steps up to the tee box first. A quick note its 7:45am and he is still drunk from the night before. The first hole is a 327 yrd par four thats fairly straight witha little bend to the left and the green is about 20 feet elevated. Anyway this kid gets out of the cart grabs his driver and tees up a ball and swings as hard as he could. The ball goes dead straight bounces twice and rolls into the cup. Now he didnt see any of this because he hit and walked off the tee box and sat in the cart. We start yelling and he doesnt believe us. We get to the green and hes looking for his ball and we tell him its in the cup, he thinks we are screwing with him and wont go look in the cup. After about 5 mins we finally get him to look and he goes crazy for about thirty seconds and then stops dead and looks like hes going to puke. I ask him whats wrong he replys "I didnt get into the skins game". The kicker of the thing is someone else eagled the hole for the only skin of the outting. There were 112 golfers $20 per team for skins. Minus the few who choose not to enter the skin was worth $1060.
  14. could someone please tell me the diff. between say 2* up and 2* flat and the benifit of having this. Also can I have my current clubs customised or do you have to order them that way? If anyone is in the Akron, ohio area could you refer me to a good fitter.
  15. Just wondering if anyone has used these. Would like to hear how they compare to the popular wedges out there.
