  1. Sadly I was doing all of the above! Ball foward, club plenty open, stance adjusted, weight forward. BLAH.
  2. I am having serious problems in the sand. I maybe make 1 shot per 18 from the sand, but was practicing today and it was ugly. I've been following the advice of Mickelson and his instructional DVD but I can't seem to get a good hold of the ball from the sand. It seems like I keep chunking it and the ball goes 5 feet, even with a pretty good swing. I am a good chipper and have great control, and I feel like I'm doing the same swing in the sand, I just can't figure it out! Any tips?
  3. Perhaps the question was referring to the emancipation proclamation?
  4. We all know polls have little to do with anything. Remember in 2004 when a majority of the polls had Kerry winning and even on election day until about 3pm they all had Kerry winning?
  5. How long has it been? Maybe he's just busy or there are other circumstances you aren't aware of. Other than that, maybe he felt like you were gloating?
  6. Paid about 2.70 for premium today.
  7. Do you mean lay the face more closed when gripping the club or putting my left hand more on top of the club?
  8. Played 18 today, shot +15 with a 3 birdies. Still loving these. Was getting the 'click' a lot more today than the other day at the range but I seem to be pushing the ball and fading a bit. Obviously it's just my swing. Can't wait to play more with em. Rich- they have project x 6.5s and are 1* up. I didn't get fitted for them, though. I got them in this condition.
  9. I'm a stack and tilter. Driver has always been the most difficult but I also experienced pushing the ball as you did. You sound just like me a month or so ago. Things that helped me- Pushing: the problem with my pushing was not throwing my hips through enough. When I focused on really moving my hips forward on the downswing my push disappears. This isn't a hip rotation, but throwing them forward down the line. Drives: Biggest thing for me was fluidity and rhythm. With a driver the S&T; swing often feels awkward. I usually have to step back and loosen myself up and remember that the swing is still supposed to be fluid. That helped me a lot. Hope that helps.
  10. Many of you will know that I was asking about the mp-32 in recent days. They aren't true blades, I don't think, as they have a small cut in the backs. Anyhow, I average anywhere between 10-25 over par; probably average closer to 18-20 than 10. On a bad round my score card has seen 30s. Got the mp-32s yesterday and had a chance to take them to the range today. Initial impressions were awesome, they felt great. After a bucket, here's what I concluded. Blades harder to hit than cavity? No Blades harder to hit with that 'click' than cavity? Yes Miss-hits with blades terrible? Not at all, over exaggerated actually. Most difficult aspect of forged blades? CONTROLLING the ball. I rarely had any action on my ball but with these any little mistake will result in your ball flying left or right. With that, I loved them smooth as butter when a good strike is made and I can already tell they will make me a much better player. I'm hooked.
  11. I tried a bunch of different drivers to fix my slice, driver didn't make any difference. I tried adjusting my grip next, no more slice.
  12. No rush really, just want to get something challenging so I can better myself. There's also a good chance that if I wait until spring I'd be paying more for the same clubs. Looks like my friend is going to straight up sell me his set of mp-32s. I'd put them in 7/10 condition. No major dings, pretty good grips. Just bag clatter and some face wear. What should I pay?
  13. What I'm looking for are a low handicap oriented set to practice with and hopefully eventually turn into a scores set.
  14. Well I can't really answer either of those because I've never hit them and I can only see so much condition on eBay. I'm tyring to get into some blades to make be a better player etc etc etc
  15. I've got a chance at some older mp-14 that look in decent condition with s200 shafts for 90+ shipping. Does that sound like a good deal? Quick responses appreciated.
  16. Just bid on those ;) Edit: got out bid as I was biking to class, lost.
  17. I decided against the trade. However, lets continue this discussion. What would some good, really cheap blades be for me to practice/improve on? Thanks
  18. He says they're 1* up. I'm not sure how that would affect me. I'm 5'10-11 and generally play with my hands a bit farther away from my body. He also said they're "tour only" heads. He has some crazy hook up with some PGA guys so I'm not doubting him, but I'm not sure what implications 'tour only' heads would have.
  19. Thanks for the responses. Reason I'm asking is a friend of mine is wanting to trade me his mp-32s for a signed adrian peterson jersey I have (corny, I know). I feel like I'm a pretty good ball striker, most of my extra strokes come from within 50 yards. I guess I'm just not sure I'm ready to take the plunge. I mean, I want to, but everyone tell me forged blades "are really hard to hit" yada yada yada. Any more insight is appreciated.
  20. Hey guys, hoping you all can help me get a grasp on this. I'm just curious, in detail, why forged blades are more difficult to hit than most anything else (right?). I understand that since they're forged that they are softer and hence the ball reacts more to them, but anything else? What makes blades more difficult than cavity? At what handicap would you all recommend someone attempting something like the mp-32 considering a player who doesn't usually have much ball action? Thanks a bunch.
  21. Which Mizunos would be best for me..... My game will range from +12 to around +20 week to week. Most of my screwups, however, are around or on the green. I generally strike the ball well 4-9i; my 4i hits about 210-220, 7i about 180. I've been thinking about the 57 because people say they are a little more forgiving but they will still challenge me.
  22. good call. I gotta look into that.
  23. Thanks for the tip, I'll look into that. Baal, I've taken micro and macro but neither offered any insight to actual markets and investing.
  24. The shitstorm on wallstreet has me feeling really left out and feeling like I've made the wrong choice of college majors. Can anyone recommend me a good book that will help me grasp everything with out getting into painstaking details? Something like a "wallstreet for dummies"? I figure a golf forum wouldn't be a bad spot to ask about this sort of thing.
