  2. Hi Guys and Gals I am here in Wisconsin and want to head south and golf. I want to go the least amount of miles as I can so no FL or AZ spots. Indiana, Illinois Iowa, Maybe Ohio or Kentucky. Drop a towns name on me, I don't care if it is cold, if they are open that is all that matters. Thanks.
  3. I am amazed at how rough these guys are hitting 2 weeks in a row. Mechanics seem to be off on so many, they look like us on the course. Plus they are killing my fantasy team. I will say I get a kick out of the announcers everytime they are in a bad spot, they say "I don't know how he is going to get out of there" hahahaha, I can give pointers, but the pros do a great job.
  4. If I have to listen to Brandons mouth one more week I am done. He is yelling to make sure the judges pull the measuring tape tight? Pffftttt I will not watch another Anthony that all act like Richard Sherman. I feel there is no place in golf for that crap.
  5. I just changed jobs, for the better, and will have the chance to hit the links most everyday this summer. We are in Wisconsin so the clubs sit dormant now. I suspect I will play alone many rounds. Are there things you guys and gals enjoy doing to challenge your self when alone?
  6. Logo, I to was in your shoes at the start of this year. I bought the top flite XL with flex shafts. They got me back on the course and actually performed quite well. I was able to get the scores in mid to high 40's. I have now graduated to a better set and look forward to 2015. I was very happy with the 200 dollar start.
  7. I was a par 4 on the 18th during our last round of the season in Wisconsin on Nov. 4th. Buddy tee'd to the left of fairway and I was on the right. Same length but I was between 2 trees. He was in the open. After the normal heckling I went first and put the pressure on. From 85 yards out I used a 7 and took and low hack shot to drive it out. Got under it a bit, caught the front lip of the green, popped up in the air and rolled it up 1 ft from cup. He chunked his shot and I won by 1 stroke. Love going out on a bang.
  8. WU Tiger Thanks for the offer, I will truly consider that if we come your way. I will PM you in advance. Thanks for all the hints guys. Any others? Love hearing about your local courses. My membership is at the weymont country club in Weyauwega wi. we have about 8 open to the public courses with in 30 mins of us. Most are in the rolling areas of this state. Not quite mountains but nice courses that challenge us bogey, or so ;) golfers
  9. That's what I am talking about. Thanks for the spots guys. 12 hr drive or shorter, hopefully, is what we r looking for. The last round we shot here was 32 degrees. slowcelica, do you have a name of a course I could look up? Vangator, you are a bit far. I also just talked to another Floridian just moments ago, he was just heading to the course. I have to retire.
  10. I am sure that was just sarcasm, such as my own
  11. Maybe it was confusing how I asked. I really don't care to hear from Wisconsin people, I have to talk to them all the time. LOL I would like to hear from everyone down south as to what time of the year there home courses opens. Tennessee, Arkansas, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky. Do you golf all winter? Do you open in march, whats the gig. Tell me about your course. I ask this because if you google golf vacations all you get is high priced accomodations and the best courses. I want the regular courses we all know and love. I belong to that "country club". There are thousands in the US and I intend to find these jewels for a march trip. Do you have a small town and 3 courses in 30 miles to swing. A little hotel and a bar close. BINGO!!!! I want to hear from you.
  12. It weakens your legs so your drives will not be as long, ;)
  13. Hello everyone I have been a lurker here for some time. Sorry for just peaking!! I live in Wisconsin and want to travel south only as far as I need to, to be able to golf the first of March or slightly earlier. Can I hear from ilinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Tennessee. Who has a home club that opens then or earlier? I am not looking for $100.00 a round courses. $35 ish is best. I am a 14HCP and so is my travel partner. We want the 18 hole course in your home town that has housing, nothing fancy. we want to show up on a Tuesday and golf that late afternoon, 36 weds and Thursday, then out on Friday morn. We live in rural Wisconsin and our courses are as nice as possible, but no where near the real dandys. If yours is the likewise, that's what we want. I want to hop in the car, blast south and hit 100 holes and blast home. Gotta get my fix. Hook me up. tell me your courses name so I can google. Thanks all. I appreciate it. We are just starting to ice fish now and really would rather be golfing.
