  1. Well, I had it done at my local GolfTown for $4 a piece. Pretty reasonable. My Cleveland is now 54* and the Taylormade is...60*. The guy who did it for me said the Taylormade was already 58*, even though it very clearly is marked as a 56*! I asked if this was common, and he said yes, quite. He sees many Taylormade and Callaway wedges/irons which are off by a degree or two of their advertised spec. He also said that Vokey and Cleveland wedges are usually pretty spot-on. Better quality products...? Seems like it... Anyway, I love the set-up. I really notice a difference in the bunker, gives me a lot of options to hit some nice high floppers that stop, or just run one up there!
  2. I suggest buying second hand, I did, and got an amazing set of lightly used (by a CPGA pro), Cobra Forged CBs for $200, with a complete New Decade re-grip on the house!
  3. As everyone has said, the Golf Pride New Decades are hugely popular right now, but at $12 a piece they are pretty expensive. The only reason I have them is because I worked at a golf course over the summer. IE, we got stuff at cost, $7/grip! Head to your local golf store, feel everything they've got. Matter of preference! But do give the Decades a shot, I didn't like them at first but after playing with them a bit, I love them!!
  4. Hi guys, For about 5-6 years I have played with only a PW and a 56 degree wedge. Two years back I bought a 56* TM Rac Black TP wedge, which I absolutely adore. This year, I bought a set of Cobra Forged CB irons, second hand from a pro at the golf course I worked at over the summer. Upon seeing I only had the 56* wedge, he gave me a 52* Cleveland CG10 Black Pearl, which he had only used for 1 season, free. What I really want is a 54* and 60* wedge set up, but I really don't want to shell out any more money on golf this season or next, being a university student. I was considering getting my CG10 bent to 54*, and my Rac TP to 58*. Any opinons/experiences on having wedges bent? Any imput appreciated. -E-V- *PS: The TM has 12* of bounce, and the CG10 is 'mid bounce', two dots.
  5. I'm 19, and my grandpa likes to tell people I first swung a club and hit a ball at 11 months old. =P Pretty much been playing ever since!
  6. I'm 19, and am in a similar position to you. I have been playing all my life, but I have never had a lesson. I have learned the game through watching the pros on TV in the early years and more recently, learning from YouTube videos. Interesting how people with similar golfing backgrounds face similar challenges and similar victories: ball striking, driving, putting, etc... Interested in reading more of your posts in the future!
  7. I am studying mechanical engineering at McGill University in Montreal. I also work during the summer at a local country club, which happens to adjacent to the Royal Montreal Golf club, the course is called Elm Ridge and houses two championship courses. The beauty is I get to play them for free! Like many others, I have been a long-time reader of the forum, and am now happy to be participating!
