  1. I was playing the other week with my dad and a similar thing happened, the guy immediatly realised how close he'd got to us and put his hand up, but my dad didn't like it and threw the ball back at him. He must have thrown it a good 100 150 yards. It went in the rough and we saw him trying to hack it out!! My dad probably overeacted but the point is, that it could seriously injure someone if you caught them in the head with a ball. If you hear a shout you immediatly cover your head, everyone knows this, it only takes one shout of four to prevent it.
  2. I know exactly what you mean, my swing feels very good, but is so inconsistant, especially with my irons. Sometimes I get the flight path right and it sounds, feels and looks great, then other times it goes far too low and long and on occasions when I don't pay correct attention I slice them and then I get barely any distance. There are obvioulsy lots of different types of swings, but I think it's much easier to just have one swing and addapt it to move the ball differently. Otherwise it gets too complicated.
  3. That really irritates me too. Although it's funny when someone i'm playing with says it after I tee off as it's got no hope of going anywhere near!! Also 'You the man!!' thats annoying too.
  4. That's more than surprising, it's gotta be near impossible surely.
  5. I hit 2 10's last week. I was seriously distracted by the greenkeeper driving up and down the fairway on his lawnmower though. Well that's my excuse!!!!
  6. At least i'm not alone!! My wife always calls me obsessed when I putt into a cup in the lounge or swing a club in the garden.
  7. Exactly, I was sure that i'd miss it. My mind was racing and I couldn't concentrate on my setup. I had to give a big fist pump when it went in. Still not managed to equal that achievement yet, so I think an eagle is a long way off yet!!
  8. Congrats on that man, I can't wait until my first eagle. I hit my first birdie a couple of weeks ago, it was on a short par 3, landed my tee shot within a yard of the pin. It felt so sweet as it's on a hole near the clubhouse so there was a few people watching. I have only been playing seriously for a month so this was a big achievement for me. Even though it was a short putt, my heart was thumping outa my chest. lol
  9. My daughter is nearly three and I just bought her her first club. I'm hoping it's going to be a good investment, i'd like to see a return of a few million within 18 years!
  10. Thanks man, I did wonder if this was the case. I don't wanna just end up using my 3 wood all the time, but I guess it is more forgiving so i'll probably use it for now and keep practising with the 'big dog' at the range.
  11. I think I may start doing the same but taking a few clubs out before I leave the house as I get easily distracted if I take too many clubs with me. I also get distracted if I have to many balls, as I just try and smash them with the driver rather than focusing on my setup and swing etc.
  12. Is it normal to be able to hit your 6I as long as your driver??? I know it isn't but I can't seem to get any distance on my driver. I've only been playing seriously for a month. I can drive about 150-175 with range balls, but can hit just as far with my three wood and 6I. I can also hit 100yards with my PW. Is this abnormal?
  13. Ok, I usually only take my Driver, 6&7I and my hybrid. I'm having real trouble hitting my hybrid, it's a 20 degree M8 utility by Ben Sayers. It feels lovely but I just can't hit a thing with it. I'm scared to use it on the course incase I fluff it. I guess I need to research how to use these type of clubs properly really as it's neither a wood or an iron.
  14. Great idea!!! I'm definitely gonna try that next time.
  15. How many clubs do you guys take to the range? *****Noob alert******* My first post here, just taken up golf about a month ago, I have inherited some of my dads Ben Sayers clubs and I bought a ben sayers hybrid. I can drive reasonably straight when I concentrate but my length is quite poor. I have various problems with my approach whcih I am trying to sort out, I seem to get worse the closer to the green I get. Anyway, I hope to get some good tips from this forum so be gentle!!
