  1. Just got a rocketballz driver, trying to get away from my 4 year old R7 Draw, never can. My handicap is about an 88, Im not great and im not the worst out there. I was weary about a 40g shaft. Rightfully so. It feels like a childrens toy. And about OP saying the face was dead? Uh Yea, zero life in the face of that driver. I would hit 10 shots with it, then switch to my R7 and destroy the ball. I tried every setting that goofy tool offered and no options make this a great driver. I MIGHT like this driver more with the Tour shaft, cause its the same weight as my R7 55g, but even that wouldn't change the dead face. I give it a 4/10 and believe me, I spent the $300 I want to give it a 10, its simply not there.
  2. Cant say for irons but theres a definate difference between a name brand driver and say a Pine meadow Bloc, I tried one and it was total crap sounds like a tin can. Their cheaper than the real thing for a reason and its not just cause they dont have commercials stay away
  3. I dont know if he still plays this way but anthony kim played with a 14 degree Adams hybrid instead of using a 3w , so I assume you can crush the thing pretty close within a 3w distance
  4. you follow the club head with your head, keep your head down till after the ball is long gone. That is number 1 reason for alot of your problems. You can also try putting the ball more in center stance , yes even for your driver. Between these 2 adjustments you should see much different results. Keep your head down
  5. glad I dont play at your course. I hate slow golfers , greenskeeper should have booted you guys out after 9
  6. Looks like a good line but I would say you hold your finish to a point of annoyance.
  7. Took me over a year of hard practice to learn to drive properly and I still slice a few times around and have had over 10 lessons, so its not as easy to fix as you seem to remember. I go to the range 3-4 times a week and golf twice a week, its my #1 hobby and im still a bogey golfer
  8. I have the same club. You can do either swing with it thats the beauty. Its the only 3Wood I can use in rough and still nail it. If I am in the rough I hit down on it hard play it a bit more center. If I am fairway or driving with it I sweep it, more front of stance. Both give good distances, if you sweep it you should get lower trajectory and more roll. I bought it to cover the distance between driver and hybrid and it works wonders. My drives are about 220, I hit this 200 off the deck and my hybrid is 180
  9. omg I want to cry, I pulled my upper back muscle BAD at the gym, I hate myself for it. Second time I have done this. My back is so tight I can hardly walk so not only did I miss the open and cant even golf now for at LEAST a week. I am hoping I can move around tomorrow maybe I can go but its usually worse on day 2 than day 1 for these injuries.
  10. Seems like you would lose speed with a head that large, you should try a smaller head im sure you will be able to swing it even faster. If you have trouble hitting low than try a 11 or 13 degree driver
  11. Stay CLOSE to the ball scoot up next to it for your swing, Im telling you , you sound like me and its how I broke 100 consistently. I have about inch gap between my zipper and my hands , arms straight down. Give it a try at least. Anytime I find myself slicing or struggling with my irons I scoot closer and boom its fixed, you are probably standing with your long irons like a Wood at address , since you can hit your hybrids, I was the same way, I can destroy my 19 degree hybrid, but my 5 iron was complete crap. STAND CLOSER
  12. I thought it was hilarious too, but seriously has anyone went to a tour event and just bought general admission right on the grounds ?
  13. If I just want a general admission pass for the buick open its $30 bucks at ticketmaster, can I just go to the buick open and buy a ticket at the door?
  14. Wow Its Ron Del Barrio! I learned so much from the passive golf swing, I still use it for my Driver, 3wood and hybrid and rip em every time
  15. If your downswing was on the plane that your takeaway was on you would be on the button. Your swing is exact opposite of what you want going off video one, so your coming way over the top
  16. Great explanation, thanks for the time, Im pretty sure I have an over the top swing then
  17. I read about flat swing all the time on here, does that mean the club travels more along the hip line vs over the shoulder? and the lower from the should the "flatter" the swing? Im confused, is it good to be flat or bad? I have short distances on irons and even driver , is this a result of a unflat swing?
  18. I cant slice a drive at the range no matter how hard I hit the ball, when I am on the course I have to drop 15mph from my swing just to keep it straight.
  19. Stand over the ball and look down on it and swing with the shoulders. If you do not stand over the ball where your eyes meet with it your not gonna get a good line and if you dont putt with your shoulders your not gonna get accurate speed
  20. I was a 3wood struggle off the deck for a while and I got the new adams speedline hybrid 15 degree after owning about 4 other name brand 3 woods , sumo2, g10, rapture (worst of all) , and a cleveland launcher which was ok , but I can hit this 3 wood off the deck every single time and its great to be able to play par 5s properly now. I am even confident enough with it to hit it out of the rough and have success as well. They can be had on ebay for 80 bucks or so. As soon as I figure out my chipping I am going to be a 15 handicap by the end of the year no question
  21. Wow, that statement seems so true and I never thought of that. Im going through all my buddies that I golf with and myself and Its dead on accurate
  22. I like your advice for pivoting the foot the put my swing path more forward. I am going to try it out today, I usually have a pretty centered ball position for all irons but I can only divot currently if I press 80% weight on front foot and this causes an akward feeling swing and improper balance. I will let you know how it works out.
  23. My irons play about a club mostly 2 clubs behind the avg golfer. I hit a 6 iron 150yard at best. 9 iron about 110. Drive about 220, Hybird 19 degree at 170-175 I play my game and other than chipping which destroys my score every round by over 8 strokes, My short distances do not effect my game really but it is annoying. I know I scoop the ball and dont hit down on it, Ive practiced and still do 3-4 times a week, I watch every video, read books, Try to hit down on the equator of the ball etc but in the end I go back to my method cause I hit so clean and they drop like stones from the sky which is usually beneficial. So 2 things. What can I do to work on hitting down on the ball? Im 5'10 170lb But Im pretty weak muscle wise. I can barely bench 130lb 5 times at the gym. So do you think my weak upper body strength has to do with my distances, or do you think its my technique. I drive with everything I got and have a nice driver and I cannot get more than 220 carry average and they are dead straight to very slight draw. Other thing is, I practice chipping I can do it in my back yard, everytime I go out and I golf twice a week I CANNOT chip, 1 out of 3 times maybe it plops on the green 10 feet away and I have to save it with my putting skills. I have been using irons 8,7,6 to chip cause I fear my 56 so much. What can I DO!
  24. D- 220 3w - 190 19*h - 170 6- 150 7- 140 8- 130 9- 115 P- 90 56*- 40 I scoop my irons which is why I have such short distances. I wish I could hit down I just cant, I play really clean and have high shots that drop on the green great but its a trade off in distance. My #1 flaw is chipping, I just cant do it , costs me 10 strokes a game no joke
