1. Tiger was farther from the hole with plenty of spectators and trees between him and Sergio. Here's a clip of the Sergio interview I was distracted a few times today when watching Sergio push down grass behind his ball in the rough before he hit his shot.
2. In Japan, putts still break west toward Lake Merced, but only by half; because, as you noted, Merced is closer if you go east.
3. It's true, all putts break toward Lake Merced.
4. Jeev Milkha Singh
5. Not many people could consistently recover from his top of the backswing position (way across the line, right elbow very high with lots of separation from the chest) At the very beginning of his backswing, he lifts the club up and away from his body with his arms--very unorthodox His hip and footwork are incredible. I drool over this The hips moving forward at the top of the backswing and leg extension into impact
6. Been busy with my children's soccerbasketballgymnasticstracksoftball schedules. Playing my second round in six months tomorrow.
7. Average time to play 18 holes, value for money, and customer service are big factors when I select a course.
8. Phelps' outwardly carefree disposition doesn't bother me. From seven to twenty five years old, when his friends were playing, relaxing, and partying he was probably either training or competing. Being diagnosed with ADHD, Phelps likely needs a strict, demanding coach and schedule to stay focused. The Haney Project has consistently been superficial, scattered ,and piecemealed.
9. 2:46.00 to 2:46.30 of this video
10. Best I can do for now. My sister and I (seven years old?)
11. Here's a link to the banned substance list http://assets.sbnation.com/assets/208240/PGATOURANTI-DOPINGPROGRAMMANUAL2009_1_.pdf Many of the banned substances are listed with their chemical/biochemical name--the vast majority of PGA players would have no idea if some natural compound metabolizes to one of these substances. Then there's the question of whether a topical substance actually passes through the dermal layer for metabolism. I find it curious that the list doesn't discuss inject able platelet therapy (I didn't read all 50 pages thoroughly)--very little data proving it's efficacy, but does increase growth factors.
12. For the past twenty years, most professional athletes (including golfers) have spent plenty of time in the gym. Most people that earn their PGA card are exceptionally competitive. Ultracompetitive people willl often test the grey area. Vijay is fifty years old and already works out harder, stretches more, and practices more than the average PGA tour player. Topical deer antler gel certainly hasn't been proven to be performance enhancing. Deer antler gel has as much validity as magnetic wrist bracelets.
13. Graeme McDowell will have his best Masters I think two of the South Africans will finish front page leaderboard: Schwartzel and Oosthuizen Dark horses: one of the Swedes either Hanson and (if he qualifies currently #53 owgr) Henrik Stenson
14. Arnie replies: "I'm gonna tell Chamblee to get his head out from his"
