  1. BOTH! I'm not sure if you're like me. I started with good ol' base ball bat grip. After pulling, slicing, you name it I started trying overlap. Felt outa control. Then tried Interlocking. Started working for me but I have long fingers and was getting blisters in all the worse places on my none glove hand.,.... But..... Now I found my perfect grip. I interlock my pinky finger of none glove hand and then over lap the next finger (3rd finger) over the index finger on my glove hand. Now I'm blister free and feel smooth and in control through the entire swing. Dunno if this will help with your problem, but maybe. Cheers
  2. I too must say that if you're only considering the AP line it seems less benneficial. After recently switching to old Mizuno Irons with good shafts I realised what a difference the shaft makes. If you're hitting decent iron shots already and are keen to improve I personally would suggest the AP2's with the better shaft or another good forged iron with decent shaft's, especially Mizuno's
  3. For me it's down to a couple basics. Once I developed a repeatable routine that i know works (sometimes , hah) I've come to realise a couple things. Ussually if I'm not consistent it's becasue I"m off balance and/or didn't stretch & warm up properly. Most of hte time if I hit a bad shot and do some stretches etc.. before the next swing and make sur ei'm balanced i'm back in slot afterwards. Best of luck, everybody needs a little (especially Greg Norman)
  4. I agree with previous post. You should start with balance. Get your feet and lower body centered. From what I could see it looked like you straightened your right leg out in the back swing, although hard to tell. Good balance will help shift your weight to your right side and remain stable with your knee bent. Also it looks like you start your swing a lot with your arms. I'd suggest try to start the take away by only turning your shoulders. I did that this year and it made a huge difference in a lot of ways. best of luck.
  5. ...when you break windows in your apartment hitting foam balls with your 3-iron.....
  6. hey there, I have to say , i'm bassically in exaclty the same scenario as you as far as swing speed an inital problem being a slice. I also have no problem getting a good ball flight, so I might suggest tryign to get a 9.5 degreee dirver If I could make one other suggestion, along with the cobra's you may want to look at the FT-i callaway drivers. For me it's because I want something to improve accuracy . I think it may be more expensive though. Happy hunting, I'll be interested to see what you end up doing and hearing your feedback. Cheers
  7. So I finally have a reliable swing routine and consistent ball flight with my irons. Other than simply going to a driving range and trying to estimate the distance the balls go, what would you recommend to determine a more accurate evaluation of both carry and overall distance? I've heard that some GPS devices can tell you exactly? Anyone have experience with them? Thanks
  8. Yah. I had thought about replacing hte putter. I'm pretty decent with that right now, I average 2 puts or less in the rounds I played this year. Prob only had 1 or two 3 puts in each of the rounds I played. I had looked at the Nike OZ putters at the golf town stoer around here, and was really making eerything from everydistance I tried. Perhaps I'll go with that or something similiar for now and wait unitl spring when the ranges around here will open up again and I can test a dirver or two on the range. Thanks for the advice folks.
  9. Was putting around at golf town the other day. I found I enjoed them. Anyone else try them out yet? Got an oppinion?
  10. 1.Practice - Set specific practice regimens and goals (develop fade/draw etc....) 2.Set and maintain pre-swing routines for all clubs/shots. 3.Try to hit 70% or more of all fairways. 4.Try to average PAR for all par 3 holes ( not hard in Nova Scotia, usually nothing longer than 180) 5.Try to get up and down 80% of time. 6.Try to break 80 and get an official Handicap from the NSGA. 7.Try to play more often and HAVE FUN (or what's the point)
  11. Hey folks, new to the forum. I recenlty broke 90 and only just started to consistently hit fairways off the tee. Obviously not a coincidence. Right now I average about 240 off the tee. Not enough to hit par 5's in 2 shots, but good enough for the fairly short courses around Nova Scotia. As i'm currently playing with a 2 year old Wilson driver from a 13 Club set, is it worth it to spend some money on a used 2008 dirver, like a Cobra l4v or Callaway FTI etc.... Just looking for advice, thanks....
  12. Hey there, I'm on the other side of the country out in Nova Scotia. I fairly recently got into golf, over last three years really. I also had back problsm frmo a broken collar bone. I haven't had much problems yet thanks to stretching. Hope I can make it out to BC one day to see the beautiful courses out there.
  13. Currently work as customer service in banking/ stocks etc.. It's been wild lately as one can imgine, but iwth it getting quieter this time of year around X-mas, and being too wintery here in Nova Scotia, and spend most of my day dreaming of getting out on the course. Just 5 months to go
  14. I recently got mine, 56.11. It feels great. I haven't been to a range yet but I've been hitting foam balls all over my appartment. I've torn 2 to shreds already. Really looking forward to experimenting with the spin around the greens.
