  1. This sounds like a fantastic solution!
  2. In answer to a couple questions... 1) My PW is 47º, as it's part of the Mizuno MP-32 set. 2) I can hit the 60º wedge out of the sand in a reasonably consistent manner, and it's the first club I've been able to do that with, so I'm pretty happy with it. 3) I don't necessarily have a set amount to spend, so the challenge was more to find the one purchase that would most improve the set. However, I am probably thinking about spending around $100. Overall, it looks like the favorite would be a hybrid to replace the low irons, a 56º or similar wedge to complement the 60º, or both. Thanks everyone for your advice (and feel free to keep it coming if you have more), I'll have it all in mind as I shop for my next club or two.
  3. So I realize this is going to be a bit of a self-serving thread, but I'd love to get some advice on this... Here is my current club configuration: Driver : ERC II Woods (3-5) : Burner (not sure what model, but they're not the most recent ones, as I would guess they're at least five years old) Irons (3-PW) : MP-32 Wedge (60º): Tour Action 588 BeCu Putter : DualForce 550 I had very little choice in how this set came together, as it was compiled mostly from clubs acquired from friends and family. This set seems acceptable for my purposes, but I do eventually want to upgrade it. My question to you, dear Sand Trap community members, is what one purchase would you make to improve my club set most dramatically? And one note... I know the driver is non-conforming, and that's a bad thing. But at the moment I don't have the extra cash for a new one, so it stays for the foreseeable future.
  4. I've been thinking about giving this a try, but generally I like to enjoy the ambience of the course. Plus, I'd imagine it would distract me unless I stuck exclusively to instrumentals and foreign-language songs.
  5. Playing a 288-yard par 4, hit a decent drive (orange) to the right of the fairway but missed the second shot a few feet short of the green (red). Putted from off the green and sunk the putt for a birdie and my shot of the week (yellow).
  6. Hehe, personally I play the big bucket o' recycled balls, but I'm all for people playing more Pro V's. It makes them feel good and I can pick up some fancier balls when they lose 'em on the course.
  7. I was hacking my way through a 406-yard par 4 and ended up in the bunker in front of the green in 3. Would've been an altogether forgettable hole if it weren't for an exceptional (by my standards) shot from the sand to within a couple feet of the pin. Saved the bogey and improved my hopes for a consistent sand game.
  8. I feel like I hit the driver the best, but the 5 wood is just so much fun .
