2.) The finish will be fine... check out my Vokey's... they are sporting a nice Green paint job -
the key word being historical... I am white... have whites persecuted blacks? yes... but did my family own plantations? No, so just because past generations of unrelated whites persecuted a portion of the population means they have the liberty to say whatever they want to me? Hmm, that doesn't make any sense to me at all... but its the world we live in. God forbid we offend anyone

Is everyone who is eligible to vote, registered to vote?
DDBowdoin replied to Smallville's topic in The Grill Room
for many of us in Massachusetts we don't even bother because our vote doesnt matter... there isnt a chance in hell Massachusetts will go red... -
bogey, I'm just hoping your state pulls for McCain... I wonder how the media would have reacted if McCain was buddies with Bill Ayers? Oh the double standards go on and on...

Difference between 3i hybrid and 3 wood?
DDBowdoin replied to Grndslmhttr3's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
distance... I carry both but rarely pull out the 3 wood. I am shorter (5'8") and have a tough time controlling the length of the 3 wood, I'll give up 30 yards to hold a club that just feels more comfortable in my hands If I was 6'3 maybe I'd feel a hyrbrid felt short and uncomfortable -
Leo J is definitely in the same boat as Ponky... a lot of nice courses around here have great conditions but lack some creativity in their design. I played Shaker Hills this weekend, with a 75 dollar twilight, and while the conditions were great I'd never go back there. So many of the holes were boring. Now when I am back in Ireland I will spend 275 in a heartbeat to play Ballybunion again, any day of the week... now that was an experience.

I use handsoap... like whatever my mom buys for the bathroom
-
whenever you play with the wedge, go home... warm water and soap, clean and dry completely spray with the silicone spray and leave out of your bag
-
yes, unfortunately you would need to treat the wedge as soon as you buy it something I failed to do

no, actually the heat loosens up the paint somewhat step 5, you can use a brush in terms of the putter being "stainless" steel it can rust, but certainly not from acetone -

I have some tips if you want them... 1.) clean and dry putter 2.) heat with a heat gun (quickest), hair dryer takes longer 3.) acetone over the original paint 4.) pick out with a small file or a toothpick 5.) paint area with testors enamel paint (model paint, 5 bucks at toys r us) 6.) dry area lightly with heat gun 7.) using a cotton swap soaked in acetone lighly rub away from the surface make sure you use a simple fragrant free acetone (nail polish remover) -
I have the shaft in my Titleist... to be honest its a bit of a tough shaft to handle. The shaft is heavy coming in at 76grams and has a low torque rating of 2.2 degrees. I feel that in order to get the most out of the shaft I have to put it all into the shaft by the way, I was born in Caracas... great to see another venezuelan on the sandtrap

no... trust me, do it yourself! It's not worth sending your putter in for a paintfill alone It literally takes no time! -

I played yesterday with a guy who had a bag full of great clubs, sharp slacks, and a peter miller polo shirt and he didn't hit one shot without taking a massive divot and of course he didnt repair the divot. I finally said something on the 7th hole or something and he just blew me off and called me "a little shit" my playing partner had jeans on, and struck one pure shot after another always reparing his divots. snobbery sucks and they'll always be those people out there, its just hard to avoid it

I have to feel for you my friend... I couldn't find a grass range here if my life depended on it, there is one at a local course here in Boston (Granite Links) but the range goes straight into a strong, strong wind so you have no sense of distance whatsoever. This is the course where I play most of my golf at. I play here mostly because its cheap, 17 for 9 holes and the starters will let you make as many turns as possible. http://ponkapoaggolf.com/golf/proto/ponkygolf/ the really funny thing about the webpage is that all of the pictures of the main page aren't the course, who knows where they got those. A revamped Ponkapoag could attract attention from the Professional Golf Association, which has expressed interest in the course. The economic benefit of such an event would be substantial, with the potential to generate substantial money for the state and local economy. Ponkapoag was one of the first public golf courses in the United States. Legendary golf architect Donald Ross designed the 18-hole championship course as well as the first nine holes of the facility’s second course. Today however, Ponkapoag rates as one of the worst golf courses in the country and is plagued by irrigation and drainage problems, which limit playability. Sports Illustrated featured Ponkapoag in a 1988 article on the worst golf course in America, noting at one point that the “150-yard markers aren’t 150 yards from anything in particular.” The sad thing about a place like this is that the course has a great lay out and has an amazing lay out, its just the worst conditions I've really ever seen.

you need a silicone lubricant, as mentioned before never use WD40. one nice trick is to apply lubricant into the headcover so you'll constantly lube up the putter each time it is covered.
-
I actually caddied there all last summer when I graduated from college... looped one day played twice a week Thanks a lot Brookline... haha anyways, I'm emailing clubs informing them of my interest in their club requesting membership information and if I could have a tour / play the course. We'll see what happens, what a giant joke this will turn out to be!

In terms of public golf you'll easily go from 50 directly to 85+... My only problem with munis are their greens, I can deal with chewed up fairways but when you have to watch putts constantly keep a line then a foot to 8 inches from the hole just jump to the left or right it makes you question your handicap. I was fortunate enough, after saving for the year, to play Ballybunion and Lahinch and in the two rounds there I drained three putts from 30-35 ft for birdie... which is something I can only dream of here on my local tracks. Many of the nice public courses around range from 2500-3000 for a season pass, which means you have to play a great deal of golf to make it worth the money spent. I may join a public course next season only so I can play a few holes every night after work and if they have the luxury of having a grass range

I was born and raised here but I guess I'm just coming to realize how it works here... I'm only 23

I'm the same way brother... I am a fast player as well and I rarely take a practice swing. It has definitely affected my game. More so my tee shots because once you're in the fairway it speeds up then the next tee will have multiple groups waiting... this happens at my local course because the 2nd and 3rd holes are handi 1 and 3 so its not easy for your average golfer.
