  1. if my miss is left, do i want a face balanced or heel balanced? do i want a heel shaft or center shaft? thanks.
  2. hello! so i am a scratch golfer. i just finished four years of collegiate golf, my play was average. i say my golf has always been average due to average or below average putting. I will say i practice putting as much as the next guy. For my entire career i have used a "answer" style putter. An offset blade style i guess? For the last three years i have used the Nike Method putter in a 34 inch. I am just tired of this putter and the stroke i have had with it so i am wanting to switch! ( this comes after losing an AM tournament by one and missing four puts on the last four holes!. Frustrating! ) I have always battled closing my putter face at address and then having an inside stroke. a hook stroke if you will. For me to make a good stroke i have to feel like i am taking the putter way outside the line and finishing outside the line. I have to stroke it out to out. I am 6 foot tall, 175 lb. always have played a 34 inch. I do not like to set my ball up with a line. What suggestions for a putter do you all have. What style should it be? i was thinking about going center shafted? If i tend to pull puts what style of putter should i have? I am not so concerned with technology rather just the right style and weight of putter? So for some one who pulls puts, what putter style, model, length, and weigh will help!? Thank you all for you opinions!
  3. that was what i originaly tried to do but could not find that old rombax. Do you know what new rombax is similair to the 6wo6?
  4. its a tough decision. i am currently on my second set of the 2009 ZM's i battled whether to switch to the ap2. Had i had the opportunity to do so again i would go with the ap2. When you have your game rolling ofcourse there is nothing nicer than the zbs or zms. but... the ap2 is the best iron out there IMO. the workability is great and they cover up your misses nicely. If youre worried about hitting it lower just beef up your shafts a bit. go with the ap2. thats my advice.
  5. hello! i was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for a after market Driver shaft similair to the Fujikura Rombax 6W06 X-stiff. I am trying to check some new shafts out. I prefer lighter shafts but still extra stiff. Anyone have any recomendations for a shaft with spec similair to this one. I prefer lower ball flight, low spin. I will be putting it in a 909 D3 9.5*. I appreciate your ideas and help. Thanks!
  6. Ben, i havent been on the sandtrap all summer but am so glad to see you are actually out on the asain tour qualifier! congrats! goodluck!
  7. Did anyone else notice how Tiger did not let Yang have the last put on the 18th? assuming tiger makes* (which he didnt...) Yang would have had to three put from 6 feet, unlikely. Numerous times including just last week players have opted to play out of turn to give Tiger the last past. Its often common courtesy on tour. This was the case last weekend when Harrington played out of turn to give tiger the last put and ultimately the win. I was a little disappointed to see tiger insist of having the last shot. Anyone else notice this?
  8. Put this shaft in my TP burner and mann am i killing it. The shaft more than anything is incredibly workable, ive also seen more distance and a higher ball flight which is interesting moving from an pluss stiff to an x. Regardless im killing it with this new shaft and glad i made the switch
  9. Your tee hight should be respective to what type of shot you're trying to hit. The problem with teeing the ball low is it creates more spin and consquently your misses will have a higher deviation. You want to hit the ball of the high side of your driver club face, this creates less spin and stronger trajectory. Even im hitting a driver punch into the wind, im typically will tee the ball high. However, teeing the ball low is also an effective way for lower trajectory.
  10. thinking about getting this Grafalloy Epic Driver Shaft in x stiff. Anyone playing it right now? any reviews comments. Let me know!
  11. hey guys i'm in the market for a new x stiff shaft. I'm currently playing a still plus diamana. I think i know what specs of what i'd like but what brand makes the best x stiff? whats your favorite? what looks the best etc? let me know!
  12. watch your ball flight, and also make a hard effort to listen to your shots.
  13. The legend of TW continues. We are all so lucky to be spectators during Tiger's Era.
  14. Good evening all! So with a new season starting up there of course are all new 2009 lines of balls. I have always played the Titleist Pro V1 and have always loved it. But this new one just doesn't seem the same. It seems like it have significantly more spin than last years, too much spin. Anyone else frustrated with the new Pro V1s? any advice for replacements? what new ball have you taken a liking to?
  15. Pracitce habits will vary with your skill level and playing abilities. I however like to practice more than play, its more time efficient, more convenient and more effective. IMO, with that being said some shots you can only learn on the course. Whatever you do practice or play, do with full committment and enthusiasm. From what I've read this is Tiger's usual practice routine - - WAKE UP, run 4 - 7 miles, Stretch. put, chip, range. LUNCH 9 holes, put/chip. Weight Training, stretch. Pretty cool, From what i understand Tiger spends just as much time on the green as anything else. you should do the same. good luck!
  16. I like your pick of AS. i think that guy has crazy good game, too bad hes busy being a play boy.

    Faders?

ya come on! Mickelson is known for the power fade! his miss and usually tiger's too... is a huge thigh block push... not a snap hook.
  18. My Pms?...
  19. This was just an amateur tournament, I believe a 17 year old named Zach Blair won with a 65 . kids legit. Went out today played nine and shot a 34 on a rating 37.5. felt good. i was so relaxed 7 pars, 2 birdies. my putting was much improved. Zach will be at the winter champs this next weekend. I think ive got him this time. haha thanks for the commment

    Faders?

Most tour players can shape both shots as they want, but a fade is far more consistent than draw. In a fade you're hand are farther ahead of your ball than a draw, much like you would hit an iron or wedge. a slight fade also has less spin which equals more distance, higher trajectory which is more controllable, and a fade plays better into the wind. Both swing shapes have their perks, i think its just as effective and easier to hit a fade. In this weekend tourney most of the top 10 hit a fade Mickelson, Mcllroy, Villegas, hoffman, watney. etc...
  21. Good evening guys. Hope you all are having a great weekend. On Friday i played in the first amateur, the Shneiter Bluffs AM and didn't play great but didn't play awful. here are my number. I hit the ball really well i just didn't have anything going from 100 yards in. i shot 75. Par - 4 4 4 4 3 5 4 4 5 36 4 3 4 5 4 5 3 4 4 36 72 Bryce 4 4 4 3 3 5 4 4 5 35 5 3 4 6 4 4 5 5 4 40 75 puts -2 2 1 1 2 3 2 2 2 17 2 2 2 2 2 2 2 2 1 17 34 GIR 13 (2 under GIR) UP/DN 2 / 4 Fairways 6 So its obvious i had way to many puts. I had never played the course and that hurt me a little on number 16. i over clubbed long over a par 3 and went Out of bounds. i ended up doubling. The OB was right behind the green, unbeknown to me. For my first tourney i don't feel to bad about it. I was most pleased with with my focus on the day. Ill go low next time. Next week i travel out of town to play in the UGA Winter Champs. Its a stable ford 2 dayer and should be fun. should be nice and warm too. Thanks guys and stay tuned!
  22. It seems to me the stack and tilt is very inconsistent. I know a player who played very well with power pivot... switched to stack and tilt and played the best golf of his life for three weeks... then played the worst golf of his life with the same stack and tilt a few weeks later(he now is back to power pivot) It just seems too inconsistent, with the stack and tilt its very easy to make effective and solid contact.... but thats about it... IMO
  23. I'm a sophomore marketing major. I played 4-3 man in the fall and will move up one or two spot this spring. This is my first year at Westminster College. last year i attended the University of Utah. In the fall i had two decent finishes t25 and t14. (72,72,68) The fall season was pretty frustrating just with travel and miserable playing conditions. hopefully... this spring will much more enjoyable. thanks for being interested any questions ask!
  24. [QUOTE=sosinsurr;267655]Well it says he's from Salt Lake so I'm guessing somewhere there. I know there isn't a Bryce on the U of Utah's roster. Salt Lake CC doesn't have golf I believe. And the only other school in Salt Lake I believe is Westminster which I believe fields a golf team at the NAIA level so that'll be my guess. Good luck though bro! Keep us posted. I know I'm in the same boat as you basically. I took this year off from playing college after having shoulder surgery last year. I'm just going to a local community college while playing in amateur events before I move on next year to play at a 4 year institution![/QU Good guess. i play for Westminster. last year for my freshman year i went to the U but didnt get the chance to even try out. sooo for other reasons than golf i transfered to Westminster. its a small school and the golf program is just starting but free competitive golf is still very nice I originally started as the fourth man for the team. had a good showing in my first tournament. Tied for 25th individually and played three man for the rest of the season. My lowest shooting was tied for 14th place out of a field around 100. not bad. In the spring i will probably play 1 or 2. because our number 1 man has just graduated. .. We have just hired a new head golf coach who has been recruiting hard. so hopefully our program based around the few sticks we have will grow in the next few years. Where are you planning on playing?
  25. Ben sorry to hear about your short put woes... the good thing about that is its easy to fix. I bet you kill it next time. good luck next time im excited to hear how you do. I've started a thread like yours but for my 2009 amatuer and league season. So everyone check it out!! http://thesandtrap.com/forum/showthr...219#post267219 Go get em ben! ill do the same
