This website lists the public courses in Fairfax county... http://www.fairfaxcounty.gov/parks/golf/ I haven't played any of them but heard good things about Pinecrest, Oak Marr and Laurel Hill

When I have a shot from 50 yards and closer the ball always rolls really far...usually to the other side of the green. I'm working on my distance control but what should I do to put more spin on the ball around the greens to get it to stop or roll back (using Taylormade golf balls)?

Does anyone know of any good pros who give lessons in the Northern Virginia area for around $75/hr? No preferences as to whether they are a head pro or assistant pro. Thanks!

I'm not a member of a private club but I usually play at East Potomac Park in Washington D.C. ( www.golfdc.com/gc/ep/gc ) but learned to play at Hawk Pointe Golf Club in NJ ( www.hawkpointegolf.com )

I bought a complete set of Cobra clubs that was used as a rental set. I had played with them once ahead of time. The clubs looked like they had barely been used. It was a $2000 set brand new that I got for $500 with free shipping. If you can find a private club that is going to sell the rental set at the end of the season I'd say that's the way to go. They might be willing to split up the set just to get rid of them.
