  1. Below is the feedback I received from Lamkin Customer Service: "There is a white upside down V shape on the bottom hand of the training grip. The point on this V is basically the spot that you want to use to line this grip up to the clubface. This point should be lined up parallel to the leading edge of the clubface."
  2. Just getting back into golf, and my grip needs work. Purchased a couple of Lamkin Training Grips to install on a few of my clubs. However, I am not sure how to align them properly (no instructions on their website). Does anyone how any experience installing these grips? Thanks in advance!
  3. I'm a weekend duffer, who plays strictly for fun. I ususally drink 5 or 6 on the front, then another 5 or 6 on the back. I typically always shoot better on the back. Dont know if its from the buzz of from being warmed up. (My first swing of the day is always on #1 tee box). After a few beers I tend to loosen up and quit thinking so much and just hit the ball.
  4. I just bout the golf pride new decades two days ago. Someone had the local golf shop order them and he never came and got them. They sold them to me for a mere $3 a piece!!!! couldnt pass it up.
  5. I have been hitting EVERYTHING off the hossel lately. Went to golf tech last night, and got a swing diagnosis. Video showed me too close to the ball at set up, coming too steep on downswing, and the club face was WIDE OPEN at impact. He tweaked my setup, which got my swing closer to being on plane. I went out to the range and started hitting 3/4 shots with my irons. They went dead straight. If i took a full swing I would shank it. As for now, i will stay with the 3/4 swing and progressivly move towards a full swing. Problem is, i tried to trasfer this technique to the driver but i got absolutely no success in doing so. (Topped everything or hit it dead left on the ground about 10 yards) Why wont this work with the driver?????
  6. Just signed up. Anyone ever had one? What can i expect to get out of it? This is my first step into taking golf serious and really trying to improve. Lessons soon to follow!
  7. What if you dont have an established handicap yet? Say you only have 5-6 rounds to enter. Then i beleive you are supposed to use your lowest differential out of the 5 or 6 rounds. But how do you determine the max number of strokes you can post on a given hole in this situation??
  8. I agree, this seems like a flawed system. If i understand it correctly, a 40 handi and a scratch golfer can play a round and both shoot 180. (not likely, just using this for the sake of argument). The 40 has to post the 180, and the scratch gets to post a 108. Doesnt seem fair.
  9. Thanks David, that helps alot. So far this year my HI is 30.1. (The 28 i have posted was just a quess, I just recently figured out how to calculate this). So keep pace of play up, I will start picking up after 9 strokes .
  10. My short game is so bad that if there is no hazards between me and the green, i have resorted to putting from about 65 yards and in. From there i know i can at least get the ball on the green 98% of the time. Pitching and chipping will get me on the green about 50% at best. Works for me, although i wouldnt suggest it. Unless you like getting strange looks from everyone on the course when you pull out the flat iron on the fairway!
  11. What is the rule on this?? Is there a maximum number you can make on a hole, or is it infinity?? Typically I will take a double par as the max. (Just to speed up play. I hate holding my group/ the whole course up). My golfing buddies all played high-school golf back in the day, and they said in tournaments the highest number they could post was a 9. Is this a common rule? Thanks for any help on this.
  12. Thanks for the tip squaddie!
  13. I was wondering why your handicap was pi!
  14. Thanks, ill give it a try!
  15. [QUOTE=hippyboy;288793] My biggest problem is I slice the ball with the driver, but unlike a lot of people I have a closed clubface when I do it (I can tell by the tee marks starting in the middle of the face & going towards the toe) sometimes it is a big slice, other times more a fade. QUOTE] Wouldnt that mean that the clubface is open??? If it were closed, it would seem like the tee marks would start at center and go towards the heel.
  16. Isnt the differential calculation: [(Score - Course Rating) x 113 / Slop Rating] x .96

1.) I used dumbbells. If bulking up is your goal, I would recommend them, if not, bands will do just fine. 2.) Personally I think it is a waste of money. It is always good to eat some sort of protien after a workout. This doesnt necessarly have to be an expensive "muscle repair" shake. 3.) If you can stick with this for 90 days my hats off to you!!!(2 a days start to suck!) No doubt it will get you in the best shape of your life. 4.) Any improvement to your health and flexibility should be good for your golf game as well. However, id try not to blow up like Arnold 5.) I would just stick to a high-protien diet. Your body can only digest so much protien, the rest is removed from your body. IMO youd just be shitting your money away!!
  18. Congrats on the birdie coffee! I snuck out to the range on my lunch break. I hit a small bucket of balls, and did not hit one good shot. Anyone want to buy some new NIKE'S?????? . This game is quite frustrating at times!! Luckily, rain is in the forecast for the next 6 days. Maybe the time off will do some good... Does anyone know a good doctor who will write me a perscription for the SHANKS???
  19. Yah, I had to bust out the calculator! Im thinking about changing my screenname to "underpar" or "PerfectSwing". Screw it, new name is "TIGER"!! I cant wait to hit the course now!
  20. I played at Wildwood. I am from the Beaumont area, and I tend to travel back there most weekends. Most of my golf is played at the courses in that area.
  21. Instead of lessons, I chose to buy a new set of clubs. (Nike sumo2 driver, Nike sumo irons 3H-Awedge). I was hitting them flawlessly at the range. Played my first round with them yesterday and shot an amazing 123 . EVERY shot i hit was off the hossel. It was brutal. Shot a 67 going out, contiplated calling it a day, decided to buy 9 beers and fight through it and shot a 56 coming back in. Sadly enough the shot of the day was on a 210 yard par 3. I had a 20 mph in my face, so i pulled out the big dog. After being harrassed by my playing partners, i managed to hit it into the green side bunker. Ended up making my only bogey of the day. . Needless to say I am signing up for lessons TODAY! Edit: Sorry, meant to post this in "Golf Talk"
  22. Its not your fault that you had to play from the foreward tees!! Take it while you can!
  23. you hit the nail on the head! exactly what im doing, and i have no idea how to fix it!!!
