  1. I'm going to make a purchase soon and my pro told me project x 5.5 are best bet for me. but considering i'm on a budget i wanted to know what your opinions were on shafts like the s300 high launch and sensicore shafts? my normal shot is a mid launch trap draw but i can work the ball pretty well. i hit it a long way also. 85 +/- 2 mph swing with a 5 iron.
  2. yeah im actually going to get my irons checked cause i think they have gotten stronger. but one of my problems is over swinging and tyring to kill the ball on every shot. also i took a lesson and the pro was just teaching me little tricks on putting spin on the ball and controlling distances. i think i took too much advice and started trying to put spin on every shot which gives me no feel on pitch shots. i'm going to experiment more with doing the 9 o clock, 1030 and 730 half swing. my guess is my main problem is my tempo.
  3. This is a weakness i can never seem to figure out. How do you guys control your distances say you have a 65 yard pitch shot? or any distance inside a full swing. Right now all i carry is a 56 and 52 degree wedge. 56 goes 110 and 52 goes 120 yards. I'm familiar with the dave pelz 3x4 method and kinda use that to control distance but some days i'll fly a green and other days i'll hit it short 10-20 yards short. Anyways how do you guys hit these shots?
  4. i'd like to see some videos of you actually hitting a ball and a down the line video. to fix the snap hooking i'd say go to the range and imagine hitting on a base ball field. hitting one ball left field, right, and center field. do this until you can feel where the club face is.
  5. a drill for not hitting it on the toe is tee up two balls in front of each other and set up to the forward ball and hit it without hitting the ball behind it.
  6. on a college budget i'd agree with everyone on man o war. they have bent greens and bermuda fairways. same with the witch, and the wizard. all are part of the same golfing group so i'm sure if you do so searching online you can find a good deal to play these three. also go in to Martins golf superstore next to broadway at the beach they have a stand in the front of the store with deals all over myrtle beach. also ask if you can pay the locals rate. the golf industy in myrtle is slacking and courses will give deals more often these days.
  7. waterproof is solid i'd say like 4 out of 5. and my only problem is breaking them in. it took a little while to get use to but they are solid shoes that gives you lots of feel under your feet
