Tiger has an extreme personality. One that also places an inordinate amount of pressure and expectations on himself. Anything less is unacceptable and what you're witnessing is a short burst of frustration. Big deal. I'm trying to look for it but there was an article about a sports psychologist saying that it's actually healthy to unleash your frustration but the most important part is to forget and move on. Everyone handles their own frustration differently, and apparently Tiger gets relief w/ lashing of clubs and swearing. To me, it doesn't bother me one bit. In fact, it adds some excitement to watching TV golf -- Andy

all the top brands-- ping, callaway, mizuno, nike, titleist, taylormade etc produce great equipment. in the end, it's about what fits your eye and how they feel when you swing. i don't know...some clubs just breeds confidence. the ping g10's fit my eye. Don't expect miracles to happen. a bad swing is a bad swing, you can't buy major improvement no matter how forgiving they are.

it could be your psoas muscle being overused which controls your hip flexors

New igolf Neo ....looks pretty cool!
andy replied to pjc's topic in Balls, Carts/Bags, Apparel, Gear, Etc.
I'm very happy with my igolf neo as well. Keep it mind it does NOT tell you how many yardage to the apex of the dogleg, nor does it tell you the yardage to fairway bunkers. Very simple and easy to use and battery lasts a long time. -
i improved by 5 strokes working with this putting aid

http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/mor...x.html?cnn=yes obviously, a lot of money in golf as the #1 and #2 ranked richest athletes is tiger and phil. ton of basketball players...only other golfer in top 50 is jim juryk at #41 regardless, all are making ridiculous money!

This is the best putting aid I've used. Since I normally bowel at least 3 times a day in intervals of 20 mins per session, that's a total of 1 hour putting practice time. I bought it over at pottyputter.com It's best to order it online since it will come with a do not disturb sign. IMO it's an absolute must. There's nothing worse than getting interrupted, it's equivalent to someone snapping away photos during your back swing losing all focus.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned their experiences on monday's practice round. Maybe I overlooked? Anyways, i'm heading there wednesday. I would like to know: 1. how was traffic? did you go by car or train and what time did you get there/leave? 2. how close did you get to the players and what areas are best for this? 3. how were the crowds? minimal? circus? any other tips would be nice :) Andy

Try clubs in store, puchase online - Right or Wrong?
andy replied to HytrewQasdfg's topic in Golf Talk
Its a dog eats dog type of world, isn't that part of competition --- only the strong survives. As consumers we look out for the best possible deals. If it was important to me to support my local shop that would justify the premium then by all means I would do that. But since budget is tight I usually go for the cheapest option. There's nothing wrong with it -
go with cleveland cg 14.

Best clubs for someone who sucks?
andy replied to maraca2020's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
I find the ping g10's to be easier to hit and forgiving than other irons that I've tried. They are considered "extreme forgiveness" irons -- whatever that means andy -
Does she golf? If not then personally I wouldn't choose a place to get my golf-in. this is a honey moon where both of you are supposed to enjoy every moment together . What is she going to do when you're out for 4-5 hours? Don't get a place with a kitchen either, go to a resort where she doesn't have to lift a finger. Who am I kidding, go to myrtle beach (play golf every day), rent an apt and have her grocery shop your favorite meals, write her a card and tell her "Welcome to marriage, Enjoy" andy

So I came across this article today on time: http://www.time.com/time/business/ar...900046,00.html But if you're not so inclined to read, you can go directly to the site here: PlayGolfDesigns.com What does everyone think? Would you rent a lady golfer? My god, people have too much money I give this company 1 year to fold. In this economy I really don't think they're going to go anywhere

GPS/Laser Improve Your Scores?
andy replied to wrx_junki's topic in Balls, Carts/Bags, Apparel, Gear, Etc.
I'm a new golfer and a high handicapper, so I'm not good at judging distances by the eye and always overshot or under shot my hits. So I got an iGolf Neo gps unit for $110 brand new on ebay. It's very simple, and tells you front, center, back of green. It does not tell you how many yardage to a particular hazard nor does it tell you how many yardage to the apex of a dogleg hole. I would think this would be relevant when I can learn how to really take dead-aim or shape my shots...but until then I don't have a need for it Since then, my last four scores were 105, 102, 98, and 92. For me, I can confidently hit the ball and not worry about distance but focus on my swing. Also around NYC the white tee markers as noted on the scorecard almost never matches what it actually is, particularly on PAR 3's. For ex the scorecard says its a 167 yd par 3, and my gps says it's 146. It's probably temporary tee placements since it's the beginning of the season but this helps in club selection Andy -
go to meetup.com and type in golf in the city. like "nyc golf"

What you want to do, especially in your first month is to not dwell so much on getting the perfect work-out routine but to establish a consistent work-out schedule. If you haven't been to the gym, then you will be very sore on your first two weeks anyways. I would focus on building up your heart via cardio jogs/workouts and watch how others use the equipment. I don't know about your gym but we can ask a personal trainer on site for free on how to use a certain type of equipment.

golf might actually be exciting this weekend. phil is now tied with TW at -7 and kim is at -5
