  1. I have the Titleist Lightweight Stand bag in red, white, and navy. It's a nice bag and will match your headcovers. Or, you could do what I did and order some matching Rocket Tours.
  2. I've been playing Vokeys this season and just ordered two MP-T wedges from Budgetgolf.net for $132 shipped I've never seen Vokey's dip below $110 for a brand new wedge. I've heard great things about them and I'm looking forward to dialing down the distances and taking them to the course. They'll go along nicely with my MP-67 irons
  3. How long have you been playing with the 755's? I say give them some more time if they're fairly new to your bag. The G2's are super easy to hit (I used to have them) but I didn't like the lack of feedback on bad shots. They all felt the same. After moving to a less forgiving blade my ball striking has improved dramatically and I've been shooting 3-4 shots lower. It took a lot of practice though, because I suffered from mishits until I figured out how to hit them properly. Don't change clubs just because you hit a few good shots. It's also important to consider the length and lie of the Ping's. Make sure they'll fit you if you do decide to switch. Check out Ping's online fitment guide, which will give you a rough estimate.
  4. I can hit my 58° a good 80 yards. I do have a bit of trouble whenever I've found myself a good 30-40 yards short of the green, however I think a 22°/23° hybrid would be more useful. Thanks for all the input, time to go demo a few and see what kind of distance I'm getting out of that type of club.
  5. Currently my bag only consists of 13 clubs. Along with my driver I'm only carrying a 5w and a 19⁰ hybrid. This is a setup I've gotten very comfortable with. I could never hit my 3w as consistent as my 5w so I just left it out. I carry a 4 iron though PW, along with 52⁰ and 58⁰ wedges. I used to have a 3-wedge setup (52⁰, 56⁰, 60⁰) but they were pretty crappy and I never took the time to nail down my distances. The only area I feel I could expand upon would be adding a higher lofted hybrid club (perhaps a 21⁰ or 22⁰) or going back to a 3-wedge setup. Thoughts?
  6. I didn't have my best round of putting (I 3-putted three times) but my approach shots were extremely good. I know it's not all irons, I gave myself plenty of pats on the back I will recognize the benefit I got from a new set of fitted irons though. "Fitted" being the key word
  7. I'd give up my first born before trying to paint my MP-67's.
  8. I just got back from a quick 9 with my new MP6-7's. I shot a personal best 40 on a course where I usually shoot 43-44. Never have I had this much confidence with irons, I'm seriously impressed with Mizuno. I even ordered a Bettinardi putter :)
  9. So you applied paint in and around the area you wanted to paint, and then wiped the excess away with nail polish remover? This sounds easy, I might have to redo my Vokey wedges, the black paint is starting to disappear.
  10. There were times with my Ping G2's that I would fade the ball, even though the contact felt and sounded perfect. I was worried I was mishitting the ball and the forgiveness of the club wasn't providing me the feedback. After hitting longer clubs I can only remember a few shots that could be considered a fade. I just grabbed my old 6 iron, and what do you know...at address the tow is noticeably lower than my new Mizuno's.
  11. This is where I noticed the biggest difference. I struggled at times with my 4-6 because I was addressing the ball too close to my stance, and now it's much easier to make solid contact with the ball.
  12. Are you going from fitted or off-the-shelf clubs? I tried to ignore the "new car smell" of the new clubs and just focus on my swing and let the club do the work. I think knowing I now have the correct length/lie/flex boosted my confidence too. I hope the honeymoon period never wears off
  13. First off, a little information about myself. I'm 6 feet tall, about 155 lbs. Currently I'm probably playing around a 12 handicap. Up until now I've been playing a set of Ping G2 blue dot's that I picked up off a friend. They seemed to work fine for me and I consider my iron play the strongest part of my game. However, I was losing a few strokes a round due to thinned and fat shots. I have always wanted to upgrade to some nicer irons while getting fitted at the same time, but couldn't afford spending almost $1,000. This weekend I came across an incredible deal on some Mizuno MP-67 irons and snatched them up, and also got fitted for them at the same time. I found out the stock lie was absolutely perfect for my swing (should have gotten black dots!), although they had to be lengthened by an inch. I instantly noticed a difference even swinging the demo club. I finally hit the range tonight and...wow. Talk about a HUGE difference. I was worried that my swing wasn't consistent enough to hit blades, but I was a laser show out there. That extra inch made a world of a difference, my swing felt much more natural and less forced. I'm assuming this is because I wasn't as hunched over as before. I worked my way up through the clubs while hitting two buckets of balls and I was literally laughing at how easy they were to hit. I'm convinced that even adding an inch to my old G2's would have produced similar results. So, for those mid to high handicappers who haven't been fitted for clubs yet. Go do it as soon as possible! It'll make you realize that sometimes...it probably is the club
  14. I couldn't believe it! I wasn't hitting the standard length very well, and after trying out the extended demo I was sold. I hit about 10 balls and all of the were as pure as Mother Teresa. I can't wait to pick them up and head to the range! My scores this summer have been hovering around 41-43 and 83-86, it'd be nice to see some benefit from having a set of irons that actually fit me. My goal's this summer are to break 40 and to shoot an 80, hopefully this is money well spent.
  15. I stopped by the local pro shop today to check out their selection of irons. After hitting the Callaway X-22's and Ping S57's, he showed me a set of Mizuno MP-67's. My jaw hit the floor when I saw the price, so I had him tape up the 7 iron so I could demo them with the other two. I've heard a lot of good things about the MP-67's and was really impressed. 30 minutes later I walked out of the store after a custom fitting session for the MP-67's. I'm having the shafts lengthened an inch and regripping them with Lamkin Crossline Midsize grips. I also picked up a dozen Srixon Z-URC balls with a nifty free towel! The total? Under $500
  16. Are you in high school? Shin splints normally affect teens due to a muscle imbalance in the calves. If you're really motivated to get rid of them, do a ton of toe raises to build up the muscle that runs down the front of your shin. Icing should help the inflammation.
  17. I paid $30 shipped for two dozen Pro V1x from lostgolfballs.com. They are recycled, not refinished, and the large majority of the balls I received were logo overruns or had small markings on them.
  18. I used to play Bridgestone e6+ and Callaway Big Bertha Diablo balls until I discovered www.lostgolfballs.com . Now, I can pick up two dozen brand new/hit once Pro V1x's for $30 shipped. No sense in paying $45 per dozen when you can get them that cheap.
  19. Soap and warm water? Don't tee it up as high?
  20. I've heard that. I didn't get one for my driver though, just my two fairway woods and my hybrid. The group I play with has made sort of a ritual to all buy each other animal head covers. I'm pretty tall and slim, and ran cross country/track in college so they bought me a Cheetah head cover for my driver
  21. Well apparently my emails were somehow getting marked as responded to. I placed my order today for 3 headcovers for my fairway woods and hybrid :)
  22. As anyone actually contacted this company? I've heard a lot of good things about their head covers, and most recently about the quality of their newer batches. However, they seem to be out of stock in the style I'm interested in and 2 weeks and 4 emails later I've yet to hear a thing from any of their email addresses Not a good first impression if you ask me, but I really want one of their head covers!
  23. I just returned home from purchasing a hybrid from Golf Galaxy. I tried out some clubs from Nickent, Adams, Ping, Cobra, and Callaway. I had been switching clubs quite a bit and after a while I didn't even realize what I was hitting, until I settled upon a club that felt great at address and I was hitting very consistently. I was shocked when I turned it over and saw Nickent. And even more shocked at the price! Nickent gets my vote for being underrated. As for overrated? I'll go with Scotty Cameron putters. While certainly excellent putters, I can't see where the high price and excessive praise is justified. I'd own one if I could afford it, but my Ping Anser felt 90% as good at a third of the price.
  24. I just picked up a 26⁰ Nickent 3DX for $60 at Golf Galaxy. This will be replacing my 3 and 4 iron. I tried out the Adams and Ping offerings as well, but liked the address of the Nickent the best. It happened to be much cheaper too! I also tossed on a Golf Pride New Decade grip and will be playing 18 tomorrow morning, I'm looking forward to hitting my first drive into the rough 180 yards out :)
