Master Scotty Cameron Putters: Worth It or Not? Thread
Duffy replied to JEWMAH9701's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
Scotties are more than just a putter. They are a status symbol. Just like wearing your best looking outfit out to play golf. It makes you feel good about yourself so, you then play better. -
Thanks guys, Makes perfect sense to me. I'll let my body get back to normal and take it easy. If that doesn't work I'll talk to a trainer.

If any of you folks out there have tried this, let me know what you think? I bought this program as I had videoed my swing and found that my back swing was ridiculously short (old age stiffness). The problem is that I've been doing the program for about a week now and I'm so sore that my back swing has gotten even worse. Any idea when this is actually going to make me better instead of the opposite? THanks gang

I've heard that the next Big Break will be all female and hopefully clothing optional. Now that should bring in some new viewers.

I'm very happy to hear that for some, other than myself, this experiment has worked out so well. I'm looking forward to playing on Saturday as for some odd reason my wife will not allow golf on Christmas day. Very strange indeed. Merry Christmas everybody. See you out there.

Hi Bogey, I think I missed that tip. Can you elaborate?

Leave the course as you found it? What a novel idea. This thing could catch on.

Hi Duffer, It's amazing isn't it? I mean the pure feel at impact is so sweet and the swing is so simple that I don't know why this hasn't been thought of before Stricker.

I don't know that Steve has done any instructional stuff on DVD or in book form but he is on the cover of Golf Digest last month but haven't had the chance to read it yet. What I've done is record his swing from three tournaments and have studied it's uniqueness. Not much to it, back and through. What I've been able to see is a huge shoulder turn which I believe to be the secret to his tour distance. One thing to remember is that his metals are more like a traditional swing. Not quite as big as most of the players but much bigger than his iron shots.

I had heard that Chicken soup thing as well. Of course I was only able to speak to him briefly but he did seem to be a genuinely sweet soul. What can I say? Danny, You should have stopped by. Glad to see I have a neighbor on here.

Went to see Hank Haney at the new Golfsmith in Irvine yesterday, hoping of course to be the winner of the private lesson with him and didn't. What I'd like to say about the experience is that not only was he brilliant in the seminars he gave us (a world of knowledge given out freely) but in my brief opportunity to speak to him at his autograph session I was pleased to see a genuinely pleasent and friendly fellow. It's not often you have the opportunity to meet these guys but it's even less frequent that you meet one that you'd feel comfortable having a beer with. Very nice and humble guy.

Hi All, I've been working a lot lately on introducing Strickers swing into my iron shots. At my age I have a terrible time making a full swing , making a full turn and hitting an accurate shot. So, I've spent about three weeks working on that abbreviated swing. The result is; from 150 I'll be on the green 8 out 0f 10 shots (working toward perfect). On my pitches 70 to 110 I'm almost perfect with my SW. Working on my 200 yd. 4 iron for accuracy and making huge improvements. Of course I've had to sacrifice a little distance but not all that much, maybe a half a club or so. All in all it's made a huge difference in my game and I just shot my best round in years, 76 at San Juan Hills, for me, a pretty tough course. Anyway, I just thought you guys might be interested in something different. I'd like to hear from the folks who have tried this. As well as anyone else. Duff

How about a Big Break for single digit seniors? I'd love a chance at the show. Now all I have to do is get to single digits! Really though, there are a ton of very good seniors out there and the challenges could be completely different. We could see, competitive power napping! Walker races! senior fashion shows! And last but not least, drumroll!!!!!!!!! Wanna see my operation contests!! It could be a hoot. Well, gotta go take out my teeth, See ya later, Duff

Although I'm a big fan of BB I thought this was the worst season I've seen. I just couldn't handle all the whining, bitching and moaning that went on this season. It also goes to show that anyone could have a bad day. I thought that hands down, Vince was the best player in the show and should have been in the finale. Anyway, I'll look forward to the next show and anticipate a better, less whiney, less fit throwing , less club throwing, less course damaging group. Merry Christmas All.

Just finished the match. I couldn't put it down and the sequel came out last month but I haven't gotten it yet. Also The Horse Soldiers. I know it sounds like a western but it's actually about the war in Afganistan.

+1 Absolutely agree. I think it's a sexual thing for teen aged gilrs or so I've been told.

Everybody got all the shopping done for Christmas? My list consists of 1) A new R9 driver 2) A dozen Pro V 1's 3) A putter that makes every putt. What's on your list? Merry Christmas All!!

Who's booking the bets on the finals?

Hi All, I've decided that at age 62 I'm going to give up the idea of the PGA calling me but I've figured out how to tell if I'm hitting the ball well off the tee. If it feels good and I can't see it anymore after it passes the 150 marker I must have done well. Of course the down side of this is always having to hunt for my ball. Old age sucks. Where'd my ball go?
-
I've watched that shot several times and if you look at the flight of the ball it actually looks like he hit it thin. Took off like a low rocket and was traveling way to fast when it hit the ground. Could have just miss-clubbed it but I doubt it.

Just noticed that I have a few reputation points on this blog. What are reputation points and where do I buy them?

GG, You haven't written lately. Don't you love me anymore?

Kinda wondering why all the talk about who's got money and who doesn't. What difference does that make in regard to hitting a good or a bad shot? So far as Kevin is concerned, we all go through good and bad times on the course, WOW. Well, matbe the wows are bugging me a little too but I never even noticed it until Mr. Bad Sport started bitching about it.
