  1. I think Brian is much more cunning that any of us give him credit for. He's smart enough to realize that those outrageous statements he makes results in him getting a LOT of attention. Skill wise he might have been one of the weaker golfers but his interviews were the best. You just never knew what insanity was going to come out of his mouth. I personally liked his insistence that he was super long off the tee, particularly since he was out driven on every hole I saw him play. There must have been a side of him that we didn't see that the other golfers on the show must have because they clearly liked him despite him saying some pretty uncomplimentary things. On pure talent I think Alex is the best and his performance under pressure shows that he has the whole package. Eugene's a nice guy but has one of the most spastic swings I've ever seen. As for the ladies I think Gerina may be the strongest but not by a lot. Regardless I hope she sticks around cause she sure is easy on the eyes. :)

    My swing speed...

At that swing speed I think an extra stiff shaft is going to feel like a broom handle. Your swing speed with your irons is substantially less that that of your driver. Don't forgot you're working with a shaft that's likely 43" or more.
  3. Here's what I don't get. Barkley's "hitch" seem to be limited to his full swing. I've never seen him yip a putt or a chip. What I don't understand it why Haney didn't have him work with half swings? With Sir Charles size and strength he could probably still drive the ball 250 yards with a half swing so why not establish a rock solid half swing then work back to full?
  4. I've been playing KZG irons for almost 8 years now. I'm playing what's now known as the "Cavity Backs' with Rifle shafts and I absolutely LOVE them. I made the move to them because I was looking for a little more help than you get from traditional muscle backs. There aren't any compromises with KZG in terms of quality, they just don't spend a the money on advertising that the big names do. I can truthfully say I'll be playing my KZG's for a long long time.
  5. I was a long time Pro V player up until this year. On a whim I tried the 330s and I won't be going back to the Pro V's any time soon. For my game, the 330's are just as long, if not a bit longer. They hold the greens where I play as well as the Pro V's and they feel great around the green. The thing I like the most about them though is that they seem to be a bit more forgiving when I miss. Every ball is wonderful when everything is square and you hit them pure. The thing I've noticed with the Pro V's is that if you but a bit to much sidespin on them they tend to curve off the planet. Sadly I don't get to play enough to pure it every time so when I do miss the 330's tend to wind up in the 1st cut as opposed to the Pro V's which end up in the trees. That said, the performance characteristics of the balls are getting more and more similar. It's more about personal feel and preference now much like it is with drivers, irons, putters, wedges...etc..
  6. I think this is part of the problem with golf. A lot of people obsess over what you're supposed to do rather than the outcome. My golf buddies dad is a retired AF Colonel. He used to play as a 2 handicap and was the most consistent player I've ever seen. I don't think I've ever seen him hit a drive more than 225 yards but he used to beat us mercilessly. The guy just never missed a fairway. There's no detail on a scorecard only a number. Keeping it in play and scoring well is far more rewarding that striping 2-3 drives per round.

    Drama

The mature thing to do would have been to ingore their behavior and enjoy your game. If there were 2 holes open in front of them you should let the ranger deal with it. You clearly have some issues with people who belong to private clubs. Here's a newsflash for you, some people join private clubs to get away from people who act like you did. Being rich or poor doesn't make you a douche bag, being a douche bag makes you a douche bag.
  8. I'm a walking anxiety disorder on the course. I've gone so far as too get into an argument with myself over course strategy! :)
