  1. I dont remember this but saw a picture of my brothers and I at my grandma's house hitting whiffle balls, think I was 8 yrs oldish. I don't remember ever touching a golf club again until I was 17 yrs old and played a few times during that year. I got a job at a golf course when I was 19 and started playing every day for several years. Got a job in the office world =( rarely played and then decided I missed it so much and dove back in a few years ago.
  2. Hey Psycho, makes me laugh addressing you as psycho The what you call a funky move at the top with the right shoulder is too get your arms/shoulders on a steeper plane, which is good since they were too flat before you do that move. I think IMHO if you tweak the takewaway a bit it may help. There a several different feelings you could try to get the shoulders working on a better plane. Get the left shoulder moving lower in the takeaway is 1. Have the feeling that your right elbow is rotating internally vs. external is another. Pretty painless to try those things and even better is it shouldn't throw your tempo or rhythm off much if at all. Get the shoulders working on a better plane should help. I hope whatever you work on you see improvement, thats the bottom line. Your swing at the moment looks way better than a 4 capper. I would have guessed just by the swing you are a +1 or 2 if you have a decent short game. What is your avg. score these days?
  3. When there is a disconnect early on in the swing it doesn't just escalate into needing more compensations later in the swing often but almost all the time and I think it is happening here. He is a good player and i think has a great swing and the best part is his right elbow move in transition. With Phsyco's great elbow action he can do a lot of things and still make solid contact. I think if he got his takeaway a bit better that would keep his right elbow in a better position at the top and he would be able to swing more from the inside. Just my thoughts.
  4. The earlier you get disconnected the more compensations your making up later and more compensations to get in sync is well just harder to do. I guess we'll have to agree to disagree on this 1.
  5. I didn't say it very clear or well, Should have said more in sync hip rotation especially in the takeaway. To me it seems he is using too much arms in the takeaway and left arm gets to far across his chest, right elbow already stuck behind. He has to make the Steep move in transition to get unstuck, which he does fantastically.
  6. the feeling in the BS is demonstrated well in this video below.
  7. Imo, if you want to match your takeaway up with your BS n DS you need way more hip rotation in the BS. And I mean more hip rotation out the gate.
  8. nice work since the start of your post, nice progress

Hoping this is better quality. Keeps showing up much blurrier and looks further away after uploading https://thesandtrap.com/how-to/embed-videos
  10. I think your fix should be fairly simple. A few things going on. 1st your weight is too much on your toes at address, so much that your right heel doesn't even touch the ground at address, so literally on your toes. The weight should be closer to the ankles so you are more anchored. 2nd, you are restricting your hip rotation in the BS, so let your hips rotate freely in the BS, don't worry about over doing it, its a good thing to rotate them. Do some mirror work or even better take videos from DTL and make sure you weight is not on your toes and that you are freely rotating your hips in the BS. Those 2 things alone will greatly improve your downswing.
  11. I'll make sure to follow the thread that sounds cool. I used to go to the Dulles driving range of Rt. 28 a lot many years ago and have played Brambleton, Algonkian, Goose Creek, Landsdowne, River Creek (what a course!) and all around the area. We should meet up at a range soon. Weather has been ridiculously great but as you know its supposed to snow tomorrow, Va. weather =). Its supposed to be a fantastic weekend and pretty nice all week so we got that. Is there a PM option on this forum?
  12. I love your pajama outfit, you fit right in at a Dead show parking lot =). Whats most obvious to me is your issue with marrying the shoulder turn and body rotation. What should help you is working on getting better weight transfer to n fro. And a better understanding of how the upper body should be bending in the BS and DS. Below are 2 videos that to explain visually and drills. There are a ton of videos out there discussing these ideas so search the net and find more and you will see. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YRW7UuD7Gbk
  13. Hey RT, I see you referenced DC, I live in Woodbridge. Do you live in DMV area? Btw - imo lookswise the recent swing you posted is definitely better than your CAP by far. 1 thing I do notice right away is it looks a bit stiff but thats probably because the changes are all new. That being said I strongly suggest near the end of your range sessions take 5-10 mins strictly on hitting a variety of shots just by feel only e.g. try hitting low draws, low fades, punch shots, big pull fades, pull hooks, fiddle with ball position to fit the shot, etc. I believe that is crucial to improving your game all around. And on days you play if you only have 15 mins or so at the range like most of us throw mechanical thoughts out and focus on targets and hit shots by feel and what you got for that day is what you got and go with it, dont fight it.

  16. sry, noobie on the site and probably making uber mistakes I've been Playing Golf for: 20 yrs My current handicap index or average score is: handicap is 1 but avg. score is higher more like 76 avg. My typical ball flight is: able to work ball either way but favor a hold push fade with lower clubs and draw with longer The shot I hate or the "miss" I'm trying to reduce/eliminate is: TOE shots!!
