  1. That's what the club pro and the Callaway guy both said. Usually 205 is a 6 Iron for me, and that's hitting it crisp. I probably hit 30 balls with that same club and only had 4 bad shots.
  2. Well I just got back from the Demo day and I must've read the sign wrong. It was Callaway who put on the event so naturally there were only Callways clubs out there. I hit the FT's and the X22's. The FT's were absolutely amazing. They felt great even when I didn't hit the ball as crisp as I can, they were longer than I expected (7-Iron carried 205), and they were overall very forgiving. I was extremely consistant from shot to shot and still had the slight left to right movement that I naturally play with. Also, I've had two surgeries on the middle finger on my right hand to fix a broken finger, and with the clubs I have now, there is a wicked vibration when I don't hit the ball purely and it's extremely noticeable in my right hand. With the FT's the vibration was almost non existant. I still want to hit some more clubs just to make sure the FT's are the ones I really want but after hitting those it's going to be difficult to find a better set for the price I think.
  3. After I hit some clubs tomorrow at the demo day I'll report back! Thanks for the input guys.
  4. I almost always get in trouble when I try to muscle up and let 'er rip. The last thing I think before I start my swing is to swing normal and make good contact. I hit a 6 iron 200-205, which I think is pretty long compared to other people of my handicap, but I never feel like I'm swinging too fast.
  5. I'm in the market for a new set of Irons. A friend of mine has a set of G5's he bought about 6 months ago and he let hit a bucket of balls with them last night at the range and I really really liked the way the clubs felt. They were very forgiving and I am strongly considering purchasing a set of these and having them fit to me. My question is are there any other sets of irons that compare to the G5's and are worth checking out. My home course is having a Callaway demo day on Thursday so I plan to wear out whatever they have there.

    Walkers??

Having just moved to Colorado from Texas I've done nothing but walk the courses so far. The views along the front range are spectacular compared to what I'm used to and it's great to get some exercise and enjoy the low humidity and temperatures.
  7. Got to a 538 yard par 5 in 2 via a 3 Iron from 240. Missed a 3 foot putt for birdie. Ugh.
  8. Played 9 today and shot 42. 3 Pars, 6 Bogeys.
  9. Spend 6 hours a week working on my short game. Hit 100 balls at the range 3 times a week, play 54 holes a week, and shoot 80 at my home course here in Fort Collins.
  10. I'm a full time college student at Colorado State University in Fort Collins, Colorado. I just moved here from Houston, Texas and am in the process of looking for employment!
