  1. Being a high school student, I work in the cart barn at a pretty exculsive club, which means all the balls left on carts are up for grabs, and employee golf monday!
  2. Sounds like a very nice deal for a new driver. Today, at my local golf shop I was looking through the clearence bins and they had Adams Redline RPM 430 new in plastic, with an aldila shaft, with the weight tool for 100 dollars. I was in need of a new driver as I have been slicing the crap out of my old one. Also there, they had a very beat up original R7 with no weight tool, no headcover for 110 bucks. It seemed like a very obvious choice for me, as the only difference I can see is the Adams is 30 cc bigger.
  3. I was at a golf shop today, and they had the G5 for 300 dollars, and the G2 for 200, and I was just wondering what, if any, of the major differences between them are besides the G2 being like a year older. Also, with the release of the new Rapture, do you think that the prices will be coming down even further?
  4. Playing today in the rain, I wasnt having a career round by any standards, yet on the 8th hole, i found my second shot landing about 20 yards from a large tree, and only 50 yards to the hole, thankfully i had all the green to work with. I decided I couldnt hit a wedge high enough over the tree, so I took about an extended chip like swing with an 8 iron and turned my hands over as far as I could. It ended up hooking perfectly around the tree, landing in the rough just short of the green, then rolling to about 3 feet, which i sunk to save par.
  5. There are those who dont repair ball marks, and I feel one of the problems is not having a repair tool at all. I know my first few times out I didnt have one. Yesterday I was playing at my local driving range/pitch and putt, and on every green they had little plastic cups with 2 or 3 cheap plastic tools. I feel like this is a great way to help eliminate the ball mark problem.
  6. My high school golf team tryouts have seen some of the worse fake scores I have ever seen. We are a rather small school so there is only about 4 kids that are really good. Kids have picked up balls from bunkers and thrown them into fairways, taken about 3 mis hits, yet only say that they took one. The only official we have for the tryouts is our golf coach who is driving around in a golf cart, so once he drives away, it is pretty much anything goes. They start next week, and I know I need to play great, or cheat my butt off to make it. Wish me luck!
  7. I work at Nashawtuc CC, site of the champions tour Bank of America championship, the one that was rained out this year. From the golds, its 73.1/134, 6800 yds and blues is 70.9/129, 6333. Its a very flat course, with only one major hill. I feel this might be a little high just because of the lack of hills so if you can keep it in play, the rough will not make an impact at all
  8. Hey thanks for all the advice. Im planning on a day long trip to a pro shop this Saturday to do a lot of demoing. I was just curious if getting an R7 quad, or the R7 quad ht to save the extra 150 dollars, or is the R7 425 that much better?
  9. I have a Callaway ERC Fusion driver, 11 degrees, system 55 regular flex and I cannot find a fairway if my life depended on it. In fact, in recent rounds I have left the driver in the car so I could add an extra wedge. But I need the distance from a driver and I'm looking for a new one. Looking to spend around 300 dollars, 400 tops. I've been looking at the Cleveland Hi-bore, the R7 425/460, Ping G5, but I was looking for advice on other options, or what all of you other high handicappers are hitting.
  10. Used a Never Compromise Speed Control number 1, but then I came across a Ping Eye 53 that I feel like it might never leave my bag. Putting was never my strength, but after finding this putter, it has given me a new level of confidence were I feel like I could make almost every putt.
