  1. Good for you. Most people, even me, should keep the driver in the bag more often. I've started to use my 3 Hybrid more to keep the ball on the fairway.
  2. Personally, I'd rather buy a used set of better quality clubs. As i was just told on a different thread, "irons do not wear out or go "dead" but they will show wear on the grooves." For a beginner set why not.
  3. My gf just bought an 8 pc set (Idea a3OS) from them and she loves them. It had a driver, some hybrid irons, PW, SW, putter and bag. It was a huge improvement to her game only after one round. i'm sure she's recommend them to anyone. I hope this helps.
  4. I just wanted to make sure before I tossed them and spend a bunch of money on something diff. I like the indian and arrow thing...pretty funny. It's good to hear things like that to bring me back to reallity. I guess another lesson or two will be in the near future. thanks
  5. Does anyone use, have ever used, or know someone who uses the Nike Ignite irons? I have a set (3 hybrid, 4-PW) that i bought new last year that were the previous years model for a really good deal. They seemed to be pretty good last year but this year all my yardages are way less!!! I've recently made some changes to my swing for the better and still nothing. I'm about 10 yrd less on the mid to long irons. Can irons go "dead" that fast? Is it just the irons?
  6. I have a preshot routine that i do on all my shots. I take a few practise swings, making sure to take the club away correctly and follow throught bringing my left hand (I'm a lefty) square to the target and to follow throught like i'm going to shake someones hand with my left hand. once i fell comfortable (about 3 swings) i will walk back behind my ball and visualize my shot... aim point, flight, landing. Basically I want to run through my head what i want to happen. I will then address my ball, take a deep breathe and hit. I've been doing this for several years now and seems to work for me.
  7. I actually skimmed past that article in the mag... my mistake. That is a very good article and the video helps a lot too. Can't wait to get out and try it. i have a really bad out-to-in swing and maybe this can help that too.
  8. I too heard the X was a less spinning ball...especially off the tee for more distance. i just bought some Pro V1 and love them. The other day was the first time i had real spin and seen the ball bite HARD!
  9. I bought a cheap LW a few years back to see if i'd like one before i spend the $$$ on a "good" one... am i ever happy i did that...they aren't very forgiving. I did the same thing 2 weeks ago with an AW 54* and i love it. i'll probably look for a super deal on a good one this winter via ebay.
  10. I've finally taken a lesson after 7 years of golfing and it helped A LOT! After 2 sessions the local pro has told me 4 things that were wrong with my swing (yes i know that is alot). It's helped to keep my slice under control and get more power to my shot. it definitely takes practice. it's been about 1 month know and things still need work but atleast now i know what to do. Things I was taught: 1. Weight transfer 2. Slow my swing down 3. Take club straight back and around...almost like twisting my upper body to coil the energy 4. bring left hand through on contact...i'm a lefty Lessons are worth the money.
