I have been hitting a straight push lately and I think part of the problem is not unwinding enougth with my upper body, when I hit my driver I get the feeling that may upper body unwinds very little and is getting pulled by my lower body, the problem is that if I over do the shoulder turn hit a few straight but most of the shots seem to draw or hook.It feels like it's hard too time and get consistent Am I on the right track with more unwinding of the shoulders or I'm I going down a deadend

cheers for the advice, what are the best ways to work no these things, i guesse for the take away just try and use less wrist and more shoulder turn, are feet together swings benefical for balance ?

Here is a face on video of my swing with a driver I had a down the line view but after reading the how to film your swing thread it appears to be useless so hopefully i'll get a new one of them sorted shortly. My bad shot was a hook or push and general ball flight was a draw but i changed my backswing in this round and i was getting fades and slices (all except one where gentle) I know my swings not the most effective or the prettiest to look at but im trying to improve it and all comments will be appreciated

i was watching some videos of my swing and it looks like my right elbow stays on my right hip on the downswing and even through impact without extending properly, could this be causing hooks which have recently been plaguing my game and are there and drills to solve this cheers Ben

I'm hopefully getting a camera in the next few weeks, allowing me too record and analyse my swing. I was just wondering what you look for when analysing swings, where u put lines and angles and general information and tips on analysing swings

not getting enought weight onto your front foot ?

Is it just me or does it seem bonkers that after all these years playing golf and with all the modern technology we now use that the most effective swing isn't widly used ( I suppose the best swing is different for everyone)

I've been trying to get a better understanding of the golf swing in recent weeks and have found this thread very intresting, but I was just wondering is there any benefit of having a large weight transfer to the back foot such as in the 'traditional' swing. And if not why do so many people do it

at what position in your downswing does your left leg straighten if at all ?

just wondered if anyone had any practice drills that you can do without a club or ball. Might sound like a stupid question but it would mean i could practice much more than i currently do

Lateral shift of the hips on the downswing

personally i find this th emost intresting move in the swing, i think its a move that isnt all that talked about and in my opion would improve many golfers games if they did it correctly. I think that if more players understood hwo to start the backswing in this was then sthe number of slicers would be halfed -
when i watch pros swing it seems there left leg almost moves forwards in the backswing whereas mine moved more towards my right leg. What effect will this have and is it vital

when i hit my woods the ball starts lowish then rises up in a curved flight, what is the reason for this and is it a good thing

I am looking to get some new irons and was wondering which irons people reccomended i was thinking of getting the titleist aps's or the mizuno mp-57 /mx-200 ( i am open to other options) i am looking for a club which has the ability to work the ball. my ball striking is good and consistent

I was just wondering how everyone starts there backswing and what they believe to be the best way to sdo this. I use to move my whoel body on the take away at the same speed but recently ive been moving my shoulders more,to try and gain some yards what effect would this have on my swing

i was watching the golf yesterday and the commentaors claimed david toms (i think it was him) had imporved driving accuracy and distnacy by hitting his driver on a downswing. Wht would this be

I just wondered if anyone else found par 3 easy to hit with there irons than if they were the same distance away from the hole on a fairway. Persoanlly I find it much easier and i was wondering if you think its a mental thing or just because u get to hit your ball from a perfect lie and position on a ar 3

ive started to swing along the line of my legs and the shots are under controll much better, but they still fly to the right of where my club face is pointing (draw) i was just wondering how much u angle your feet away from the target line as i think this could be the problem
-
i hover my driver behind the ball to try and put a bit of extra width in the swing and realease tension in my body it seems to work well and also has a positive mental effect, i always feel more relaxed when i hover the club which leads to a better shot
-
ive always wondered how having a shaft flex that isnt stiff enought causes a draw, i would have thought that the club flexes more leaving the club face more open can someone explain this please

Ive changed my golf swing slightly recently so that my first movement on the downswing is so it starts with my left knee moving slighly towards the target and the shoulders only start swinging later on in the swing. Ive played two rounds so far with this new swing and its gone really well, but every so often i hit a few hooks and i have no idea why, i have never hit a hook before. COuld it just be down to lack of practice and consistency with new swing or is there an underlying swing fault ive checked my grip and its seems to be fine
