  1. Over 25 years of golfing for me and still no hole-in-one. I'm just waiting for the prize money to go up in those local benefit tournaments before getting my first ace.
  2. I ususally wear whatever hat best matches to the shirt that I am wearing that day. I have multiple titleist hats, a callaway hat, a Ben Hogan hat, a Maxfli hat and the always trusty Cubs hat. I recently bought this Ping Ranger hat. It will get put in the rotation this upcoming season.
  3. I'll reaffirm everything said here. The Gamer is a great ball in my experience except for the cover. I got good distance and control with this ball, but would literally pick pieces of the ball out of the grooves on my irons - and not just the wedges. If the new version has a more durable cover without changing the characteristics, I would definitely give them a shot.
  4. I am looking to add a 19* hybrid to my arsenal and looking for some opinions on the plethora of options out there. I currently have a 22* TM Burner (2007 model) and hit it pretty well so another one of those is a possibility but fearful that more current equipment would have substantial benefits over the older models. I have been looking at what Nickent has to offer and Adams, specifically the A3 Boxer line. Other than that, I have no idea what is good and what is junk so any comments would be greatly appreciated.
  5. Didn't actually go to the store, but got a new Callaway X-tour vintage SW and some Stinger 3" tees from Rock Bottom Golf.
  6. I usually have some problems with them at the end of the round when I'm out with the boys.
  7. I started using Stinger 2 3/4" tees this past year. Not sure they add to my driving distance as I also got a new driver before the year. I do know they got into the head of my regular playing partner and he now uses them as well. Looking to get some of the 3" Pro's this year - they have smaller heads than the 2 3/4" XL's.
  8. I got a sweet new Ping hat and an Adidas Exert glove for the upcoming season. Spring cannot get here soon enough. P.S. It is currenty 9 degrees here with projected highs of -3 and -4 for Thursday and Friday respectively - HOORAY!!!!
  9. My high school coach was a huge proponent of the bump and run, mainly because our small town course had large and relatively flat greens. My go to is an 8 iron, but will use just about anything in the bag. I use bump and run whenever I'm able to. I have better control on my chip shots using the bump and run.
  10. At least your teams will get the possibility of getting better through the draft. The Bears have traded away their first and second round picks in the upcoming draft for Cutler and Simeon Rice respectively. Nice - especially the Simeon Rice trade. At least they beat the Queens last night.
  11. Those are two of my standby beers as well that are usually always available in the garage fridge. I also usually have some Boulevard and Leinenkugel on hand as well. The wife is fan of Boulevard Wheat and Leine's Honey Weiss. I really like Boulevard's Nutcracker and Bully Porter. Leine's Red and Creamy Dark are my preferred flavors in their lines. I love trying new beers, which is sometimes a bit hard up here in the middle of nowhere. Lately, I've been getting into pale ales and IPA's. Big Sky Brewing out of Montana has a good pale ale (Scapegoat) and a seriously hopped up IPA. There used to be an independent brewery here in Sioux Falls that had some good beer, but it has been closed for some time now. It had a hemp ale that was really good. The only other brewery we have is a chain (Granite City) that has ok beer.
  12. My 2 year old got - it was not pretty and a bit scary.
  13. The Big Lebowski Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels Snatch Dumb & Dumber Fight Club The Shawshank Redemption Star Wars Trilogy (The REAL Star Wars movies) The Usual Suspects Se7en American History X Saving Private Ryan Requiem for a Dream Full Metal Jacket These are a few of my favorites.
  14. I had a set of 845s in high school as well in the mid 90s. Absolutely loved them. Unfortunately I traded them in for a set of Tommy Armour V-31s - they're progressive irons. The V-31s were not nearly as good and I've been kicking myself for trading in those 845s. Another vote of for the 845s - one of the best set of affordable irons ever made in my humble opinion.
  15. Mostly play the Taylormade TP Reds. Also have Bridgestone B-330 balls in the bag and play those as well. Lately been playing Srixon Z-URS as I can get them for $20.00 a dozen. I also play Pro-V's when some unlucky fool loses them on the course for me to find.
