  1. I must have been typing while you posted becuase I asked almost the exact same question.
  2. Background: I use my 5 wood often on par 5 approach shots and long par 4's. It's a 12+ year old off the shelf walmart dunlop. My 4 iron carries 190 and off the turf my 5 wood doesn't carry much farther if any at all (not as consistent with my wood distances as with irons), I don't use my 3 iron due to lack of ability and I'd rather layup with a 4iron then hit the 3. Question: I'm not sure if I should replace my 5w with a new wood or with a hybrid. What I don't understand with hybrids is how they equate to irons, some hybrids only state the degree of loft, but what I need is "this is a 3 hybrid to replace a 3 iron for carry distance." I think with a 3 or 2 iron hybrid I could get close to that distance but at that point isn't a hybrid basically a wood in shape and design anyway? I'm looking for recomendations on manufacturers and whether I should get a hybrid or wood. As a side note what's the difference between a rescue club and hybrid or fairway wood? Thanks.
  3. Is there a difference? I see listed on lostgolfballs.com that they have these listed separately.

    Tee yardages

Thanks for the info. I play at public courses, the one I play most often has very poor markings for distances as most sprinkler heads do not have yardage markings. I'll have to ask how this particular course does things next time I go out. The reason I was asking in the first place is that I had a drive on a 306 yard par 4, could not find the ball anywhere, to my surprise it was a yard short of the green. I was trying to figure out if this was a 305 yard drive or if it's marked the the center of the green and actually probably closer to 285. Thanks again. Great forum.

    Tee yardages

Are distances given off the tee from the middle of the tee box to the front of the green? Are distance markers on the course to the front of the green?
  6. First real post here. Here in Rockford,IL, at Dick's Sporting Goods, the Izzo Swami was on sale for $99. About $25 cheaper then it has ever been on Amazon. This was Friday, I don't know if it has changed since then. FYI
  7. I would say yes to both. Both are very true statements for me.
  8. good ole' park hills, I normally play the west course. http://golfparkhills.com/
  9. I'm a male RN, 30 years old. Before that I was an ELT in the Navy on subs for six years after high school.
