  1. I will be playing there in two weeks.....just too bad nobody will be in the stands watching, that would be a trip to have that many people watching you, and ONLY you!
  2. Has anyone ever seen or played these two courses? These courses were designed by Jack Nicklaus and his sons. They have the Prospector Course (Jack / Gary), and the Lost Gold Course (Jack / Jack Jr.). It was home to the LPGA Safeway International Tourney for the last 6 years, funny because I work for Safeway. By looking at them, they look awesome. It says they are private, but I have seen some tee-times online for them. I know Jack has made some of the best courses out there, and I am curious if these are right up there with the rest. If these are anything like his Kauai Lagoons course then that would be AWESOME!
  3. She must be extremely attractive to catch his eye out of the crowd, and to continue to talk to her. Wait.......maybe this is a different type of "glove" that she kept from him!
  4. Has anyone played at Superstition Mountain? They have two great looking courses, but the website makes them look semi-private. But I have found tee-times for them.
  5. Does that mean you work for Grayhawk or are you just lucky to have a great view?
  6. Sabram, in your list of top courses, you did not have Estrella, or Eagle Mountain. Do they just not compare, or have you not played them?
  7. Gold Canyon Dino Mountain isn't anywhere on the list, how come?
  8. I love the TM r7 TP irons, but I never pulled the trigger to buy them. They are now getting harder and harder to find new, I am debating on getting them. Does anyone have them and if so, what do you think of them? I hit midsize Taylor Made 320 series now. I looked at the Tour Burners, but those were actually a little bigger than mine now. At being around a 7 right now, I am not too sure I am good enough to start looking at blades, so thats why I m thinking the TPs.
  9. Its commical, GOLF DIGEST has none of the courses we are talking about in the top 100 public courses. GOLF.COM on the other hand has 6 courses in the top 100, but look how they rank them. GOLF.COM RANKINGS Top 100 public courses Troon North "Pinnacle" #21 We-Ko-Pa "Cholla" #35 We-Ko-Pa "Saguaro" #44 Troon North "Monument" #45 Grayhawk "Talon" #87 Boulders "South" #90 Funny how they have Troon and We-Ko-Pa switched around from what everone says. And same with Grayhawk, I have allways heard Raptor was the better of the 2. So Cholla or Saguaro for We-Ko-Pa?!?!? I see some say one, and some say the othere. Has anyone played Superstition Mountain? Two courses there from Jack.
  10. Ok, so I have been doing a lot of research about courses in AZ because I am going there in a few weeks. It is funny because if you go to Golf Digest and look at their top 100 public courses, there is not 1 on there from AZ. But if you go to Golf.com, they have 6 on there, and in some odd orders too. One system has Troon North Monument course rated higher than the Pinnacle course, the other vice versa. So who do you guys trust? I have allways looked at Golf Digest being the #1 in this area, but there are so many out there.
  11. Did you get the deal at Dino? I am looking right now, you can play both the Gold Canyon courses and breakfast or lunch for $169 pp.
  12. Has anyone played Desert Canyon? I am looking for a cheaper fill in course. Has anybody playe the Pheonician? It looks pretty nice.
  13. Wow...thanks Mr. Wizard on the education! hehehe. But, the Circa 62 is much softer than per sey the Studio Select.
  14. I too game the Circa 62 #3. I haven't seemed to have any moisture problems with it though. Myslef, I am actually thinking of going with the California edition. At times, the 62 can be "too" soft if that is ever a problem. I still seem to come up short a lot and it is keeping me from scoring.
  15. I am sort of in the same boat. My new wedges spin like crazy, and I game a Scotty Circa 62....its carbon, not stainless steel so it has a much softer feel. In that case, you just answered my question for me. Thanks
  16. So I have been gaming my ProV1x's for about two years now, but I have been wondering which one is actually better for me? I have a high"er" swing speed with my driver, but a smoother swing speed with my irons. Just curious......
  17. And what abou the Legacy Resort course?
  18. And has anyone ever played at the Wigwam Resort? It was redone by RTJ and looks pretty nice. I ask because I have a free round through golfnow there. And I can also get an exremely cheap rate at The Shell Legacy course too......
  19. Thanks Sabram, I have seen your site before, its great. I think We-Ko-Pa is going to be a definite, and most like Troon.....but if I only have ONE more, what would you suggest? I called and got a deal through our timeshare for TPC.....both courses, same day for $225. So if we golf four days, its TPC, Troon, We-Ko-Pa, and one more. Or do you think somewhere else would be beter than Troon?
  20. Ok, so my pop and I are going on a trip to Scottsdale next month for golf and Pre-Season baseball. We will be there for a week, and are looking to get at least 4 days of golf, and maybe one of those days 36 holes. I know there are a few threads about places to play, but I wanted to start my own because we are not worried about prices, and a few of the threads were. I know a few on here say TPC Scottsdale is overrated, but where we are staying we get a discount on it. Only $160 instead of $275, and we can play the champions course for $80 instead of $140. We are leaning towards the Monument course at Troon, but I have heard a lot of people talk about We-Ko-Pa too. I also here about Grayhawk, Boulders, Gold Canyon and Talking Stick. There are so many to choose from, I want to make sure we play the very best. Any help and input would be great guys.
  21. The #1 ranked golf course in Hawaii is the Prince course in Kauai. Kauai to me is the best island for golf. It also has Poipu Bay where they used to play the grand slam. All of the course regardless of how nice they are, are around $150. And I believe the previous member was joking about not playing because of his handicap....no public course can turn you away because you are not good.
  22. Have you figured out where you are going to go yet?
  23. Who do you know because San Fran is private as hell!
  24. Well, I see flight prices probably aren't a factor because you were looking at Puerta Viallarta. I have been there....DON' T GO! For all of your needs you have said; Marriots, golf, and beach...the exact place you need to go to is Kauai, HI. They have 3 Marriots there, and two of them are great. One is on the south side of the island, right by Poipu Bay Golf Course, where they used to play the Grand Slam before it moved. Great course! Then the hotel on the east side of the island, is on the Kauai Lagoons golf course (Nicklaus course) that they revamped last year to put a par three in the ocean. (played it last year, wonderful course). And then there is the Prince Course at the north end of the island that is ranked #67 in the country/ #12 public in the country. That is the one I have yet to play, but it is supposed to absolutely wonderful (and tough). Just my $.02!
  25. Has anyone played at the Legacy Golf Resort in Phoenix?
