  1. So is 70 compression softer than say 90? I hope to get a dozen of these soon, just gotta make 20 bucks somehow lol.
  2. Ok, so I've had my eye on Bridgestone Golf Balls for a while. I've just about decided on the e7+. I know that the e7+ is supposed to have a more penetrating trajectory. I need that. But, I was wondering three things. 1. Is it a 3-piece? 2. Does it have a urethane cover? 3. Does it have decent softness and feel? I don't need it to be too soft, just more than the slazengers I've been playing. So, anyone got any answers regarding the e7+? Thanks.
  3. I'm not sure, as I actually sliced it pushed it more with my regular shaft than I do with my stiff driver. I'd say it could, cause maybe since the shaft is too flexible, your hands are already starting to pull the clubhead through left before it even makes contact. Just a guess, but seems like a good theory IMO.
  4. I would say to get a stiff shaft on the woods too. I had a Burner 10.5 regular, and sliced and ballooned it a lot more than I would hit it straight. I didn't think anything of it until I got the 3 and 5 wood in stiff, and after that, I sold my regular 10.5, and went out and bought a stiff 9.5. Now, what was a slice is now a very slight power fade most of the time. I just love the control and accuracy that stiff shafts give you.
  5. I'm also looking to buy irons, probably later this year. Do the r7's have a somwhat thin topline? I'm not very fond of chunky looking Irons, I like the more streamlined look.
  6. I say go with the 07 Taylormade Burner. One of the very best clubs out there for only $149.99. It is also slightly draw biased (and I mean barely, 2 degrees closed face). I have a stiff shaft 9.5*, but judging on the information you provded, I'd say to go with a 10.5 with regular flex. Here it is http://www.golfgalaxy.com/galaxy/pro...PRJR6VR99PBTC1
  7. Yes but golf is a game of accuracy young grasshopper . Lol jk have fun.
  8. Yeah, I agree 100% I just wanted to know if I should wax it because I've heard paople say it before. I did a really good patch job. I know clubs wear, and I know it doesn't matter if their is all paint or no paint, the club will still perform. I just like to fix things a bit when it is possible, that's all.
  9. I haven't had any quality issues outside of a few tiny paint chips that I have already filled in. Why the sudden worry? Trust me, you won't be dissapointed with your choice. It cost you 140 bucks, but it was originally 300, so don't put it off as cheap.
  10. Well, I got lucky today. My dad was going to home depot for a part, and I decided to go with him. While we were there, I wandered over to the paint isle to see what I could find. To my surprise, right on the endcap of the aisle, there was a rack with a bunch of different colors of craft/hobby paint. I looked closer, and I found one in "GLOSS BLACK". It was only 2 bucks so I got it, took it home, and it worked quite well on my driver. I also used it for a few chips on my 3 and 5 woods as well. Works great, stays on, and makes the chips unnoticeable until you look at it really close and the light reflects just the right way. It is almost a perfect match color-wise, maybe a hair duller. If I wax it, will it smooth it out a bit? Anyone know?
  11. I'm wondering if I should try to return it to dick's for a new one. I had the same driver in a 10.5 for a year and it didn't chip a single time. I've had this for a week, only used it twice, and I already have 4 chips. Anyone agree?
  12. Ok I'l have to find some black nailpolish. Hopefully it works. Problem with the spraypaint it just refuses to stick to the metal, and I'm not gonna prime it. Will nailpolish need primer?
  13. I never really understood the point of cart bags, as stand bags fit perfectly fine on a golf cart anyway lol. Cart bags imo just make it more of a struggle than just a stand bag. My stand bag has the older system, where once you take it off your shoulder, the stand goes out and stays out until you put it back on your shoulder, and the strap pulls the legs back in.
  14. Same here. You can definitely work it to be anywhere you want, rather it be neutral, closed or open, you just have to adjust.
  15. Not to get off topic, but have you tried any of the 07-08 models from Taylormade, Cleveland, Nike etc.? If not, I would suggest doing so. You can get some really amazing performance for a fraction of the cost of newer drivers. But, if you're set on the Titleist, I am a stranger to everything they make except golf balls lol. I would like to get vokey wedges eventually though.
  16. Yup, once you've got the good stuff, why change it? If I average 3 yards more with something, it's not nessecarily better, just gets it 9 feet farther on average. So, why throw away another few hundred dollars for 9 feet? You're gonna be hitting the same 2nd shot anyway.
  17. Yep, sounds like a bell on some kind of wicked steroids lol. I see you have a 10.5 Burner. Is it regular or stiff flex. I had a 10.5 regular for a year then I sort of outgrew it as my swing developed, so I sold it and got a 9.5 stiff, makes a world of difference. One thing the xls has got over the Burner is the paint on the crown. It is much more durable and resistant to chips than the glossier paint on the Burner. But in the end, I love my Burner to death lol. I guess paint chips are inevitable. I mean, how can you not get a few tiny chips and such when you are hitting rock hard balls all the time? Lol. I'm proud to say I have yet to get the dreaded skymark and hope to keep it that way.
  18. I don't see the point in getting new stuff constantly. If something is outdated and/or doesn't feel right to you, then I totally see the point. But I will never go buy something I don't need just because it is new on the market. Heck, I have an 07 Burner that I love and I'm gonna use the thing till' the very damn end. I can't see it getting any better than that for me. However, my irons and putter are outdated knockoffs that were my grandpa's, and don't feel right to me at all, so I do need to upgrade there. But I'm gonna get fitted so I don't end up buying more and more in search of a good fit. But, to each their own, I guess if I had the money to spend I would look at this differently, but I love what I've got so far.
  19. I have an Taylormade 2007 Burner, and my dad has a Cleveland Hibore XLS. Both are OUTSTANDING drivers. I wouldn't get the XLS if you have sensitive hearing, though. It is Freakin' loud! Hurts my ears when I hit it square on lol.
  20. Man, chips are stubborn as all hell! There were four tiny chips, two are gone, but the paint came off the other 2. they are really tiny, though. Can anyone please tell me how I can just fill them in and not have to worry bout the paint coming off? I don't care if the chip is still there I just want it filled in black. Please, someone.
  21. Cool. I still may get he nickents, but I really want to get fitted at golf galaxy. And aca247, If you could see my putter you'd understand. It is just not right for me, and I want a spider or something bigger cuz of the moi, I really struggle with putting.
  22. Ok, I fixed it. The first time I did just one coat of black spray paint, and it made it worse so I rubbed it off before it dried completely. This time I got it right. I did two coats of black spray paint, then a coat of clear coat, and then blended it smooth with 2000 grit sandpaper, just on the small part where the chips were, not the whole club. It all blends nicely and you have to almost look with a magnifying glass to see it now.
  23. Cool. I'll have to see how much money I have to spend after my birthday. The wedges may have to wait until Christmas, cuz I need new irons and a putter more.
  24. I haven't noticed any specific ball flight. I belive the face is slightly closed, but It doesn't matter IMHO.
  25. Eh those are some good deals but I'm looking for new clubs, not used. Thanks for the links though.
